Well that sucks they closed down. Sms auto but I found another place in Virginia.
Plus I found this video that I'm going to try unless the holes are real loose
if you dont mind me asking, what did you pay to rebuild them and where?
OER sells repops but not sure how good they are.
I beleive mine are worn as well as sometimes they are perfect but then they go out place.
Thanks for all the replies. I think the teeth are worn because there is slop like mopar4don said. How much to get them rebuilt? I'll try lube first and see if it helps. I think I saw a new pair on ebay, not sure if they are trash?
I'm curious if the hood hinges need grease? I am still working on the body work and I notice that sometimes the rear of the hood doesn't seat all the way down when I close the hood. I have the hinges at the rear seated downwards otherwise the hood would even be worse on closing. I can push...
LMFAO!! There was one video a guy used a paint stir stick for the entire car. I was trying to make everything match that thickness. I was getting so fustrated. So im getting gaps around 1/4 and call it a day otherwise this car will never be done. Plus like Cawley said the paint will make...
ill try messing with the latch some more. i can see from underneath (no bumper on yet) that the latch is engaged.
would tilting the hinges down in the front help it ?
The spring doesn't sit center it sits to the left. If it was in the center that would help alot.
What do you mean why the spring isn't cone shaped.
Mine looks similar to the attached picture. My only next guess is maybe my hood hinge springs are worn out?
I tried that. The left side still stays up and then the right side ends up a bit too trying to adjust both sides. Just curious if I need to cut the spring? Its a new spring and has alot of tension.
i will leave it out while i do the body work. i just dont want it destroying the paint when i test it out. thats why im testing it out now. the hood is shut (latched on) and it sits on an angle with the spring installed. but once it sits properly with the spring, i will remove the latch and...

I'm having trouble where the hood spring it's tilting the hood because of the tension.
When I remove it the hood sits perfect.
Is there a way to reduce the tension on the spring? Maybe the spring I have is to long?
Mine is similar to yours. My fenders are 1/4 and door to quarters is 3/16.
Ok thanks so I wont fuss then trying to make them all the same. Looks good thanks.
Ok I was trying to get 1/8. I saw a guy in a video try to get the width of a paint stir stick but its tough. I think I can reach 3/16. Im not sure how thick the paint will be and if it will interfere with the font of the door. Whats the typical thickness of paint with clear coat? Can...
Just wondering if 1/4 inch is to large between the fender and front of the door. If I make it smaller the front of the door will hit the fender when opening. I'm been working on it all day driving me nuts haha. I know the lines weren't perfect from the factory but wondering if it'll look weird...
