71 Charger oil pan clearance issue

I put a 440 into a 318 k member in a 71 Charger. It bolted right in but the oil pan slightly rubs the steering crossmember. It is a stock oil pan. What do I do to fix this? Thanks for your help. I should add the 440 is from a camper.

    Edelbrock carb questions

I have 2 questions on my Edelbrock carb: 1. Where do I look for the model #? 2. The electric choke seems to work fine, but in order to come off high idle I have to physically move the linkage. Am I missing a spring or something? Or, is the linkage just binding (seems free)? Finally...

    More 440 questions

Carb is an Edelbrock, bought used from a guy that went to EFI. Initial timing is 8 degrees. I'll admit I am just a novice at this stuff. There just doesn't seem to be anyone around here I can hire that really knows tuning a Mopar engine for maximum performance, so I need to learn an awful lot...

    More 440 questions

I have a rebuilt 440 with mild cam, 440 Source heads, Edelbrock Performer intake, 850 cfm carb, mild cam, headers. It has great power running on 2 barrels, but instantly bogs out when I try to kick in all four barrels. Too much carb, or what else may be wrong?

    Distributor questions

My son's 70 Satellite distributor puked, so we got a new one from NAPA. When trying to time it there is no indicator on the timing chain cover. Is it missing, or is it some sort of bracket that bolts on? Also, what direction do you turn the distributor to advance the timing, CW or CCW? Thanks!

ECU was mounted on the inner fender near the distributor. Been told it must be well grounded. Maybe not grounded enough?

    Results on rebuilt 440 problems

That's what most people say, and it makes perfect sense, but I had 2 Mopar buddies who both said, "It's that electronic conversion, for sure". They are Mopar guys from way back. One of them has a 74 Cuda 440 6 Pak with points and is afraid to change it over because it runs so dependable and...

It is a Mopar conversion system from Mancini. It's probably something I did wrong, I'm just an amateur mechanic.

    Power brake booster ?

I want to improve braking with my 71 Charger that has drum brakes. I am thinking of installing a power boost now that I can also use with a disk conversion install next winter. Any input on if this is doable or doesn't make sense greatly appreciated.

    Results on rebuilt 440 problems

A few weeks back I posted about my newly rebuilt 440 not running right, hesitating under acceleration and misfiring. Switched carbs, same thing. Different plugs, wires, cap and rotor, same thing. Finally, put in a points distributor-runs fantastic. Anybody else have trouble with electronic...
