    440 six pack heads

7th month is a bit late for a sixpack. SPD's are 3/26 and 4/26. VIN stamp on the pan rail will certainly tell you IF it is a sixpack block. It will start with an "A" for Lynch Road, 9 for year and the A12 number sequence that falls between 239XXX and 309XXX. Many report AA stamp on the pan rail...

    Tips on shooting clear???

Trizact is a great system. I suggest the use of an interface pad. Flow coating will always give a smooth, flat custom appearance. I just finished a 5 series BMW, with blacked out trim that looked like a black mirror.........in his case, it added an extra 3k to the bottom line.

    Tips on shooting clear???

No idea what gun your using. It's all about reps behind a gun. I have 3 Satajets ....but prefer a Prolite 2 or an old Techna Copper with 1.4 fluid tip/needle for smooth clearcoats. Typically, fan full open with quarter turn in to narrow fan a bit. Fluid adjust full open....one full turn in...

    Paint Safety EN143 EN136 EN140 NIOSH EN202089

I'm a little late but 36 years in the industry and still love it. 6001 cartridges with prefilters for paint and 2091 for dry sanding. An overwhelming majority of my time is in a booth and the cartridge's will last longer as they are subjected to less than in closed conditions, aka makeshift...

Mechanical Paint Removal In Detailed Area’s

Using the new drum tool, a few wire wheels configurations, rowlocks.....I think you got it figured out! The drum sander is hands down the easiest, most effective way to conquer the stripping task. Glad HF had the tool. Wait til you get to use it on someone's previous bondo escapade... it makes...

Mechanical Paint Removal In Detailed Area’s

Norton used to make a stripping disk(blue in color) that I used to strip paint with an old Makita grinder/polisher, until I got the SCT Contour. The Contour is a bit pricey but it works very well and I've stripped many cars with it. Typically takes two drums (black)to do an entire car to bare...

    Hockey pucks???

Don't forget combustible for warmth! Memory lane.......Had a buddy use em stacked as a bodylift, then cut the top and bottom of "Hamm's" beer cans, slit up the back and wrap the pucks......truck appeared to be supported by beer cans!

    Hockey pucks???

Pucks are vulcanized rubber..........I've shot many of em. My boys proved they had ballistic capabilities when shot at something other than a net. They have many utility uses....insulators, feet of a generator to keep it from walking. Looks like you might of figured another.

    Paint Gun And Compressor Questions

Bob, I know you mean well. The OP wanted to paint pieces and parts and "that" school teacher IS IN FACT an extremely good painter. You might want to watch the video before you pass judgement and "In touch" means he is accessible and answers questions. I highly doubt I can give the OP lessons or...

    WTB 69 BB 727 PK2892093

Hi Kim, Doesn't have to be rebuilt, 6bbl and not necessarily, anything before May 28 is a bonus for period correct as my SPD is 426 and latest code is May 28 on the Dana. My findings is the 093 was a HP with 4 front/4 rear planetaries...not sure about the clutch/spring configurations

    Dustless blasting anyone?

Baking has nothing to do with the bond of a coating. It is a curing process. There are only two types of bonds. Mechanical = abrasion or "tooth" Chemical = accomplished through resin chemistry. In order for either to be accomplished the substrate must be clean (oem dipped them), dry and sound...

    Dustless blasting anyone?

The bodies "in white" went through wash vats, then onto dip primer that went about 10" or so up from the rocker line. Paints today do not have the volume solid nor the Organic compounds it once had as they were solvent based. Today, every car plant has wash, chromate and water borne finishes...
