I would add that I also heard that when going over an asphalt (shingle roof) "if" a fire would start and the shingles catch fire it is harder to put out with a metal roof over it.

When I did my 68 RR I used a umbrella valve seal over the pivot with coating of sealer on the pivot and the gasket.

You can also use grease instead of using the bread and water mix. Fill the opening with grease then using a rod close to the inside diameter of the bushing hole give the rod a sharp rap with a hammer and it should come out. Of course, using an inside puller is the best way if available.

The point is Toyota stood behind the vehicles and replaced the frames without cost to the owner.

Toyota was replacing the rotting frames on 10-year-old on Tundra and Tacoma model trucks at no cost to the owner and even paid for rental vehicles. Never heard of any American manufactures doing this on ten-year-old vehicles.
