Had to replace the vent window and in learning how it all apart the front channel plastic got damaged (it split in halve) so need to replace it. Window is back in so can go for drives again. Yes it always had some wind noise.
In floor heating is most comfortable heating to work in. It keeps your feet warm. take pictures of it while laying it out to know where the water is running.
After the restore was finished, the wind noise is very bad. The top rail has all new rubber seals. I am looking for the window channels and the fuzzie rails at the side of windows. Have not found anyplace that has them. If they are out there I am sure some one here will know. Thanks for the...
Had the alternator checked and was good. Replaced the voltage regulator and that took care of it. It will now show a straight up or leaning to the right at idle and stays there with the lights and fan on. Thanks for the ideas and help. This is a great place for help!
It has a 318 now bored out .30 and came with only power steering. I added AC now. I will get the alternator tested and find out what its output is and maybe a new regulator.
When idling the gage will go slightly left if anything is on but does go right with some increase of rpm.
Don't want...
I have finished the rebuild on my 66 Sat. and added AC to it for comfort. Still have the original alternator in it (rebuilt) and at idle it will discharge the battery. Just wondering if I can get a bigger alternator (like 100 amp output) that will help? If I do that, do I need a different...
On my conversation, went to reply to comments and wanted to upload a picture. At the bottom was only 2 buttons, one 'reply' and the other 'options...', but there were no options. Any suggestions?
Not all BS are accurate. Bought my 66 Satellite new and the BS tells one engine while it has another ( I got the poly but the sheet calls for a regular 318)
The bumpers both had small bends in them and cracked chrome so sent them off and got them straightened out and rechromed. Turned out very good. Thanks for the info on the rest of trim.
My Satellite is headed to the body shop to get finished (body work and paint) and now to the chrome. It was exposed outside for years and has some small pits in it. I can get a shine on it but it has small pits and would look so much better it they could be filled in. What is some way to do...
The calipers do not switch sides or the hose will be on the outside of the disk. I started from scratch and bled all of the system-bench bleed master cylinder, etc. Ended up that the calipers were holding air and had to take them off, tip them so the bleeder valve was above the inlet hose, got...
Here is pictures of setup and caliper. The rear brakes will start to grab and then releases as the pedal goes down. Did on gravel to find out which wheels were grabbing. There are no leaks. Put this on over a year ago so don't remember if I did or did not take off proportioning valve for...
I got P/N MN5007 from Classic and followed the directions to bench bleed and did that twice just to be sure and then bled the lines from rt rear, left rear, rt front and left front several times when not getting a good brake pedal. Did not disconnect the proportioning valve from master if that...
I changed out the drum for disc brakes on front and kept the drums on the back. Got a new master cylinder with booster and portion valve setup from Classic. I bench bled the clyinder several times and the lines several times and still don't have good brakes. When first pushing the pedal down...
That was my next thing. Thanks for the warning on weight. I like to see what is wrong or broken before doing more. Besides I like to take things apart.(ha) I will get it out.
I was driving down the road and the car felt like it started to jump or bounce. I put it up on jacks and started slow and the drive wheel turned correctly and the other tire would go forward and then stop and go backwards, like a gear got caught. There was no noise like any grinding or any...
