I put my 67 GTX on the lift today to install my new Dynamic Torque Converter. I first noticed that the factory converter bolts are 5/16-24 while the new converter takes 7/16-20. I then measured the bolt spacing on the new converter, if i recall correctly they measure 7-1/16" on 2, 7-1/8", and...

I didn't do the math for rpm's, just for final drive. I have 3.23's now. 3.91's should result in a 3.05 final with the gear vendor. I put a fair amount of highway miles on and the 3.23's aren't terrible so I figure a little improvement on the highway and a pretty drastic improvement in town...

Motor is rated at 375hp from the factory with that manifold, was that an exaggeration? You provided some pretty good information, but apparently felt the need to weave in some garbage. If Stealth heads painted are indistinguishable from 915 heads, that is pretty usefull info I would have been...

Could you explain how you shift it when driving? Do you use the split in every gear or usually just at high cruising speeds?

It drastically decreases the rpm's you're running down the interstate. This keeps you below stall speed on your converter, therefore it is slipping as you're driving. This is the reason for lockup converters.

I'd love to drive a car with a GV unit, but until then no lockup converter makes it a no-go for me. Is converter slippage not an issue with the GV?

I just finished that fiasco with my 2014 Cummins. Amazing truck in every way until that update crashed my Infotainment system. I sent it back to them to be refurbished for $350 and put the truck up for sale. Bought a 99 Cummins with blue and red knobs for the heat and rebuilt everything on it...

Thank you Cranky, that's usefull info that tells us the exhaust manifolds are definitely the most restrictive part. So if I can find someone that can tell me the max hp the 915 heads can support, stock vs modified then I'm on my way to building an efficient combo.

R413- I said I was trying to avoid aluminum heads, headers are period correct, and you can't see the fuel injection or a stroker crank. Or at least I can't. I'd like to avoid headers just because of the possible leaks, but if they are more of a bottle neck than the heads, I would probably run...
