I've been running Standard Blue streak points/condenser for 18 years and many miles, preventively swapped them out every year.
Had one bad condenser last year, was bad out of the box.
The car was still driveable but had random misfires at idle, cruise and acceleration.
I've also had a set of new...
I've had the box apart and replaced all the seals and the sector shaft bearings.
Not very difficult, setting the preload of the thrust bearings is tricky (if you take it that far apart).
New thrust bearings are not included in any kit I'm aware of, and setting old bearings too tight can cause...
Don't take them serious, don't get invested, especially at that age.
If they don't behave, leave.
''Rules for thee but not for me'', that's girls nowadays.
Not sure what it's called, but does that plastic block slide back easily?
Had that happen once, spraying some light oil around it fixed the problem for me.
I also installed these, I think they work very well.
Drilling the holes perfectly for the bushings in the rear to be able to fit was a pain indeed.
I found that after some months of driving, the holes for the bushings in the rear started to elongate, so I welded them, and the connectors worked...
It broke the plate that is embedded in the polyurethane.
Heard a ticking noise every now and then, couldn't figure out what it was, was 800 miles from home when it happened, drove it home like that.
I carry a spare rubber mount on longer trips now.
Made a stop at the Bastogne/''Battle of the Bulge'' area, on my way back from France.
Drove through the area with the Satellite, where much of the fighting took place around Bastogne, explored the woods a little and visited the 101 Airborne positions.

The house on the left is...
I install my own tires now with a tool similar to the harbor freight one, IMO it's doable with 15'' tires.
It is a bit of a hassle, but I prefer it vs dealing with tire shops' hit and miss employees and crazy prices.
The rears have dynabeads for balancing, the 275's needed a lot of weights in...
With the B-pillars and stronger C-pillar areas, 4-doors make for nice solid drivers, especially if you add frame connectors and torque boxes.
And the value is lower, so more money to spend on parts, and less to worry about when out on the road.
Hi guys,
When I measure voltage at the battery of my '68 Satellite I get a steady 14.4 Volts.
However when I measure at the coil or alternator I get 14.4 with intermittent short drops to 6 or 2 volt...
Is this normal? caused by the points opening/closing perhaps?
I never got these readings...
