From a 1/3 mile clay oval circa 1979ish. 426 wedge, went like hell down the straight but pushed into the corners. All steel car, pretty heavy.

It’s a basically stock engine with a lot of miles and I think compression is down a bit. I put in a limiting plate to reduce total timing and I run 92 pump gas. Going to install the AFR gage soon as try to tune better this spring.

Search “old car knock sensor” and you’ll see some options for aftermarket units.

Not sure, I could hear it occasionally. I picked up an AFR gauge for better tuning this summer to hopefully use it with some timing adjustments solve the problem.

Definitely recommend sending it to Now and Then, they rebuilt mine and returned it within a few weeks. Very easy to ruin the diaphragm putting it back together. Highly recommend to verify the pushrod length, mine was over 1/4” short!

Decided to measure the lift on the cam lobe and it’s junk. Only.140 of lobe lift left (by comparison #1 intake has.276). Going to recommend moving on to a roller cam setup.

Not sure what brand of lifter but they might be Melling.

Looking down the hole and feeling it, the cam might be ok. Draining the oil tomorrow to see what I find. I did find the other small part of the clip but I’m sure a bunch of metal went through the system.

I think I found the problem. Intake lifter broken retaining clip and trashed it. Hopefully the cam is ok.

Working on a buddies car that is burning oil on one side only after it warms up and when I pulled the plugs front cylinder on passenger side had a lot of oil on the plug. Took the valve cover off and removed the valve springs to check the seals and they looked great (tight fit and very soft) but...

Any chance you have the passenger side male end seat belt with retractor? Needs to be this style (my drivers side version)

I think the photos of the seals I removed should settle the in vs out question.
