That is not mine but I may be able to direct someone to the owner. Especially if they just happen to have the engine, transmission or fender tag for that beautiful RR in front.
In search of information on a 1968 Hemi Roadrunner. The vin and sales order numbers are RM21J8A274767 and A8R342426 respectively. The car was involved in a front end collision and many of the parts including the engine, automatic transmission and believe it or not the passenger side rear...
In looking at a picture of a 4 door satellite and a picture of an after market 2 door outer rocker I can see exactly what you are talking about. The bottom line is that I would also need either a portion of a 2 door outer rocker or a complete 2 door outer rocker.
Thank you again.
Ron
Yes. This is the article that got me thinking about using 4 door sedan parts. Based on the pictures in the article and the parts that that remained from the 4 door sedan it got me thinking about this idea.
You mentioned that the rocker covers are different but can be converted. In the...
That makes sense. The roof section will need to come from a 2 door couple or hardtop and the pillar, door jamb and door window regulator will need to come from a 2 door coupe.
Thank you again.
Thank you very much for the confirmation. I now know what a Dutchman panel is and fortunately there is at least one piece to the puzzle that I already have.
Because the sheet metal is so solid I am thinking about trying to "splice" everything together if possible including:
inner rocker
outer...
Hi,
Has anyone used 1968 Plymouth B Body sheet metal from a 4 DR sedan on a 2 DR coupe or 2 DR hardtop? I have a 1968 Road Runner that had its passenger side quarter panel roughly cut off and I am thinking about trying to repair/replace as much of the damage as possible in as close to one or...
As a follow up on this discussion AMD has two choices for hoods for the 1968 RR. There is a Hood - OE Style and a Hood - OE Style (2 Latch Locations). It appears that the early 1968 RR came with a single latch location and later 1968-1969 hoods came with a two latch location. I have a line on...
Ok. I read all that the first time but the jest of it didn't sink in entirely. I turns out the entire inner front clip of that 66 Coronet is completely rust free and available. That option is looking better and better. I also have a line on a 1968 Satellite front end and hood that could...
In essence what you are saying is the "whole" car is the jig. The doors, the fenders, the inner fenders, the hood, k frame, pretty much the doors plus the entire front of the car. I am going to re-read this again to find where you make a case for replacing both frame rails, inner fenders...
This seems very zen like. It brought a smile to my face because it reminded me of my friends older brother talking about playing pool. "You just need to hit the ball where it wants to go".
That is so great. Thank you. I am new to the site and didn't think to search for other postings. I love the attention to detail with regard to maximizing the number of factory spot welds in a repair. It still scares me a little bit to replace a frame rail but I am going to give this some...
By request I uploaded a picture of the "good" side of the Road Runner and my 67 Barracuda that I have had since I was a teenager. Unfortunately the Road Runner was a parts car for a while and the drivers side quarter was roughly cut off. I am not quite ready to share that yet. lol.
Hello,
I just picked up a 1968 J Code Road Runner that was hit pretty hard in the front passenger side and was used as a parts car until someone realized what they had. Other than the front end damage and missing pieces the car is extremely solid with very little rust. Unfortunately the...
I have a 1968 J Code Road Runner that was hit very hard in the front passenger side. The inner fender will need to be be replaced regardless. I am not sure about the shock tower. The frame has a little tweak to it but other than that it is very solid i.e. there is virtually no rust. I was...
