I’m putting my parts together but I run into a problem and looking for advice. I don’t have enough space to enter the cotter pin. The pin will fit without the rotor, so the bearings aren’t bottoming out.
All parts are new, but something might be wrong.
The rotors are 11.75” for a 78 Cordoba...
Sorry for the long post...
I had another voltage regulator fail. Last time my alternator fried too, so I really didn’t know what failed first. This time it’s for sure the regulator and my alternator didn’t fry. Both times they send the voltage straight through causing the alternator to full...
I'm not sure who has the best break-in oil.
However, after break-in I use Valvoline VR1 synthetic for just about everything now, except my newer vehicles where I use Mobil EP or ESP.
I use VR1 in my zero turn mower, golf cart, Charger and so on.... I wouldn't use any additive, I would use...

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to share a group buy that I got set up with M/E Wagner Performance Products – High Performance Crankcase Ventilation Systems for their adjustable PCV. The...
Did you try the 8 vane pump? I don't think you have to worry about over heating with the 8 vane with the 1.3:1 pulley. You might have more noise/cavitation. I have an engineering theory on the differences between the two systems. It's a little confusing but I'll try my best to explain. First...
I believe CI-4 is an older spec and better, however I don't believe any of the Rotella is CI-4 anymore. It's labeled for CK-4, CF-2, or something other. Its best to look at the back of the container before you buy, but I think the T4, T5, T6 oil is CK-4 and should be labeled like below.
If...
I order mine direct from Inline tube on Ebay, with free shipping. Fit was pretty good.

I think its a tough balance between cleaning and protection. It's my understanding most oils, even high ZDDP oils like Amsoil Z-Rod are also high detergent oils. Do you recommend a different oil?
I'm not sure if all CK-4 does or not. I know Rotella does. I do remember Ford stating not to use...
So I'm no expert here, but I have done quite a bit of research on this topic. With that said, I don't think Rotella (1200 ppm), Mobil (Racing (1850 ppm) or VTwin (1750 ppm)), or Valvoline VR1 (1300 ppm) by themselves have enough ZDDP for break-in. They are good oil to run for normal use but you...
Long story, but I had to take a water pump off two times a couple weeks ago. The gasket was still perfect and I reused it the third time. No leaks on a old pitted water pump with super 300. I also had to remove a timing cover with aviation #3 and it was exactly the same. Both of these had sat...
I think you have received a lot of good advice already, but I'll tell you what I just did. My water pump looked almost as bad as your housing. I bought a new aluminum one, and mounted it. Then I figured out it wouldn't work with my AC brackets. I decided to remount the old pump. I cleaned with a...
Does anyone have a 1968 hood latch and lever they would consider selling. For some reason my car has a 1969 latch but no lever.
Here is the type I need.
I bought the new housing and here are the before and after pictures. If you have a 68 with the compressor slightly tilted this an easy "fix". Tip: the bolt on the passenger side would not fit, but I had an extra exhaust stud and nut I used in its place.
The part numbers are:
MOPAR 1855605...
So you guys have probably seen this, but I couldn't find info on it so I wanted to share for others. Please correct or add your thoughts.
It appears the early 68 BB chargers used the 66 style AC compressor brackets. These brackets have the compressor tilted slightly towards the passenger side...
I just installed this one. I haven't tested it yet, but hoping to have it fired up early next week.

Edit: sorry Richard, I didn't look to see who ask the question. I know you already seen my post.
