The engine's been running nice and cool. Do you guys have a recommendation on what "temp" thermostat to install in a 426 Hemi?
It gets a wee bit hot out here in Fresno. I don't really have a Chiltons, or factory service manual to reference, and amazingly enough Google has been less than helpful.
Alright, the local Radiator guy said he'd service the radiator (flush, pressure test, and check T-stat, hoses, and refill etc) and blow out the cooler for $165.00
Sounds like that's a pretty good deal.
I went ahead and ordered a set of GATES hoses, to swap out while he's doing it. The...
Do I REALLY have to service the Radiator if it's fine? LOL ???
I bought my car a couple years ago and it had "sat" for the traditional answer of "four years". Anyhow, I eventually got it roadworthy and have been driving it for over a year now. I never really went through the Radiator or the...
71 RR trunk weather strip
You could check to see if Detroit Technologies has the right seal for your car?? (check out the thread "71 RR Trunk weather strip" for more info)
This may be the path you end up going if the trunk seal doesn't eventually compress.
Best of Luck.
Don't be in a rush, and eventually the right car will come along. In the mean time, if you have the patience and spend months and months looking at all the old Mopars, your tastes will evolve as well.
The other side of the coin is... "Hurry up and buy a car, while you have the wife's...
1969 Dodge Coronet Superbee
I'm looking at the factory wires to my tail lights and it looks like they're made to be spliced into (Plugged into) for adding light to the side markers.
Did the 1969 Coronets originally come with "lit" side markers from the factory?
Is there an easy way to ADD a...
CONGRATS ON THAT SWEET RIDE, AND FOR A GREAT PRICE!!!
I LOVE THE 73 CHARGERS WITH THE TRIPLE (slotted) OPERA WINDOWS.
Yours even comes with a sunroof! BONUS!!! -Cheers :)
I am replacing several power window motors on my 1969 Super Bee. I was just wondering if you guys had any preference (or experience) between Brock brand vs Dorman brand. They are similarly priced, so I'm just looking for the best option. Thanks
Hi guys, I'm a total greenhorn trying to make my way through this...
I'm trying to transition my 426 from Track to Street, and the Current Distributor doesn't have a vacuum connection. Nor does it currently have crap for Vacuum at all.
So, I "think" I'm looking at buying a digital e-curve type...
I Love the '73 SE Chargers with that slotted opera window option. They look fantastic all fixed up. An Absolutely excellent choice! I'll be following along with the re-build. How Fun!
Here's a fun 8 minute video with a father son team rebuilding one in the SAME color combination as yours...
Cool. Hey, everyone here probably wishes they also had a '71 Cuda, (and has car's they wish they didn't sell) but at least you got to drive one for 16 years! That's 16 years of Super Cool Awesomeness!!!!. -Cheers
I'm with you on that one. I'm sure I must've missed part of the explanation, because now that you point it out, that totally doesn't make any sense at all. hmmmm.....
We happen to have a small (unincorporated) community airport near me, that can probably hook me up. (P.S. Cast Iron Heads for those who asked)
Thanks for the tip!
-Cheers
Thank you HEMI71X. I just bought two sets off the link, and the SQUARE TRADE deal insurance (which I almost NEVER buy, but since there's a HUGE chance that the rubber seals are old and will split, I want it covered.) plus I went ahead and got the decal from my previous post about securing my...
well Dang......
So far i've found new Rotors (which luckily I don't need yet) but that's it.
I will double check with the regular sources just to confirm that they "still" don't carry them.
I probably should have checked with them first (sorry about that). I was under the impression that they...
My 4 piston Bendix Brake Caliper is weeping fluid all over the pads. I'm told that buying New Old Stock is a waste of time, because it's so old, that it'll just fail as well. Do you guys know if anyone sells new reproduction rubber for those old Bendix Disc Brake Systems? They only used them...
