    Excellent, thanks!

Looks good. I'll probably do the same. Is that the boar grain or Levant? I know they switched at some point in the year, though the advertisements I've seen always listed the Silver Special cars as having a "specially textured" top.

Maybe! It seems the "buffed silver" paint was by far the most common for the Silver Specials, but I have seen them in red, blue, and white as well. Is your top black, or is it the "silver"?

Yes, I have those moldings. Not in the best condition, but they'll go back on the car when it's ready. I'll have to check when I drop off some parts next week. I didn't see the buildsheet, but I haven't taken the back seat apart. In my Charger, I think it was on the bottom of rear seat. It does...

The car is a Silver Special and was originally painted EE1 (Dark Blue Metallic), and I intend to repaint the car its original color. The top code is Y5, which in every decoder I've used has come up as "unknown". Some sleuthing in other forums and threads indicates it's a silver top. Some photos...

    1967 Belvedere II

Hello all, I recently joined the site, and introduced myself and my Belvedere II here (thanks for all the warm welcomes!): https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/belvedere-ii.245258/ I wanted to set up this thread since the car is having some work done. I recently ordered full rear...

This is the Belvedere line brochure for '67, no mention of the Silver Special: http://www.motorologist.com/wp-content/uploads/1967-Plymouth-Belvedere-brochure.pdf There's some promotional literature as well, but I think this was perhaps aimed at dealers...

I found an ad in the Reading Eagle newspaper from February 1967 that says the same thing: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1955&dat=19670221&id=ZAorAAAAIBAJ&sjid=95kFAAAAIBAJ&pg=3224,2891763

Yes, all I was getting from the decoders was "unknown". Y6 is black and Y7 is white. It was someone else on this forum who indicated Y5 is silver. I found video of a barn find Silver Special and took a screenshot of a close-up on the top, which the owner claimed to be the original "silver" top...

Yes, I've seen that Legendary has that material. I plan on getting a set to put aside for the future. I've seen Silver Specials in several colors, although silver seems to be the most common. My car is an A/C car as well, I was pretty surprised to see it still on the car.

Thanks. Trying to figure out whether it was supposed to be the Levant or boar grain (they switched at some point in '67) is how I figured out the color was supposed to be silver. In the end I may just go with black. From the pictures I've seen, the "silver" top is pretty dark.

From what I've seen, the "silver" tops all look like a lighter shade of black to me. The vehicle here is described as having a NOS silver top installed: https://topclassiccarsforsale.com/plymouth/261965-1967-plymouth-belvedere-ii-034silver-special034-pristine.html I wasn't clear on what color...

You're right, I must have confused the color while looking at later color charts for the Duster. It's EE1, Dark Blue Metallic.

I've been checking out the site for some time, and thought it worth joining up to thank the community for all the helpful information that I've picked up. I've been a Mopar fan since before I could drive, when I came across a gorgeous '69 Super Bee sitting in a used car lot near my home (this...
