    Push button tranny problem

My 62 Dodge Dart Wagons push buttons are not staying put. I’ve had to reattach them twice now after popping out of their forked holders. My question is it possible to glue them into place to prevent it from happening? It looks like I can. However, I’m concerned that there may be movement...

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

So, thanks to so many of you, I’ve found the stamp in the engine block. It is a 361 which makes sense as that was the largest engine offered in the wagon. I’ve posted my embarrassing dirty photo

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

Thank you for your insight. It is sounding like an original. The carb was a mess. My mechanic sent it to the east coast to get it completely rebuilt. I’ll say the car runs great now. It has some good power if I step on it.

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

The Detroit buyer is a collector and the car was garaged for many years. The last time it was registered was 1999 in Washington. I don’t think he did much with the car. It looked like they did the bare minimum to keep it running. I am concerned that the engine isn’t original.

It’s actually a beige/tan color interior. I’d call it cocazoid. It’s described as cocoa. Wait til you see it!

Yes, I have received a whole lot of strong advise on that point. That said, I am going to change the color of my headliner. The liner is shot. It’s the only really bad thing in my interior. Going with light green.

Thank you both. So I need to pull the distributor to see the number. Will do and I’ll report back once it’s done.

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

Thank you. As I said, I got lucky with it. I had it shipped from Detroit, which is where I found it online.

Oh, I do have an issue with the rear brake drums. They will need to be replaced eventually. I think I want to add disc brakes in front.

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

so my mechanic, who knows these cars, could not find the number to Id the motor. He said the parts he used fit both a 383 and a 413. My concern is it is a truck motor. Rather than list all he did (for 6k) I’ll post the 4 page invoice.

Bought a 62 Dodge Dart 440 Station Wagon

So, I bought this car without a personal inspection. Quite a risky move. However, I am pretty lucky with its overall condition. I’ve had the brakes redone and much of the motor parts excluding the major pieces. The car was born in LA and was driven for most of its life in Washington and...
