Anybody use Vibrant mufflers on a big block?

Mine have let me know how loud my Ultra-Flows are too... Oh well, they can always move!:p

Anybody use Vibrant mufflers on a big block?

Okay so sounds like the Dyno Max/Ultra Flow type. I can't imagine it could be much different so look for those sound clips on the You-Tube, that should at least give the OP an idea.

Anybody use Vibrant mufflers on a big block?

Try to find out if it's a chambered or glasspack design. There's not much difference between brands, but the actual sound of these two designs is quite different. Chambered = "Flowmaster" sound Glasspacks = "Cherry Bomb" sound The loudness of either of these is determined by the...

    Eddy heads and headers

Thanks for the pic KernDog, I can see the tube there is slightly more angled than on my 1-7/8" TTIs. Flange bolt access is also easy. Here's mine in that area, Lots of room for the #6 plug and flange bolt. The limiting factor is the shock tower.

    Eddy heads and headers

Doug's are good but they don't offer as many size options for BB Mopar, I think they just sell one with a 2" primary and I don't remember the collector size. They're up to $800 at the Summit now...wow. Still a little cheaper than TTI though.

Best I could do reaching under there Tom, hope it helps you--

    H pipe

No problems here either with that H and TTIs 3" exhaust and headers. '68 Satellite. I've been warned though that I will need to re-work the H-pipe location to fit around my impending Gear Vendors install, oh well no big deal that's hot rodd'n:p

    No cutouts required

Nope just have to watch out for bombs:lol: Seriously though those are badass and there isn't a cutout made in the world that sounds as good as those will! True open exhaust...I like it.

    Exhaust Manifold gasket job 3838

Yes great point....AND as good as they are, their one drawback is they are very fragile. Be careful not to bend, drop or smash them inadvertently. Just need to be a little extra careful, once they're installed they're awesome..

who makes the best exhaust manifold gasket

Another vote for the Remflex...they seal great and, if you ever have to remove them, they clean off much easier than conventional gaskets. WARNING! Don't drop, bend, smash, crack, or otherwise compromise them or they will blow out and leak on start-up. Their fragility is the only downside...but...

    California Exhaust

Dynomax super turbos sound nice, not very loud..heck I run the Ultra-Flows in a full 3" system and I think the single Flowmaster 40 on my '04 hemi Ram is louder (except under full go-pedal maybe:D) If you're trying to stay mellow I would steer clear of most of the Flowmasters...they sound good...

Mancin headers came one bigblock one smallblock

Oops I missed the part in the original post about 'purchased years ago'.....I hate to say it dude, but...you're hosed. Can't really fault mancini now. Sorry for your mishap, tough lessons to learn always suck that's for sure. Rule #1 when doing mail-order..because mistakes happen. I know that...

Mancin headers came one bigblock one smallblock

Sheesh come on mancini. I like them but they've done this bonehead stuff to me too. Ordered a 440 distributor and got a 383 unit with 440 labling. Another time they sent me later 70s motor mounts in the '68-'72 box...always got the right stuff shipped ASAP with no extra charge to me though.

    Asking for a friend....Headers?

TTIs will fit the best and cost the most....I had to put one small ding near the steering linkage but that's it, but I have a 440 with Edelbrock heads. The Hookers I ran before needed much bashing to clear spark plugs and torsion bars.

    Opinion needed

The exhaust shop I've used has no problem doing 3" but they charge a lot...so I did the last two on my car myself. First was a cheap-o jegs 2-1/2" system, I've since switched to TTI's full 3". '68 Plymouth. I got them in and adjusted for fit how i wanted then welded the joints, and ditched the...

I didn't see anyone mention carb tune. Play with the mixture and listen to how sound changes..
