Penn Grade 1 SAE 50 or 20w50 when it still a bit cooler out. That and a Moroso oil filter raised my idle oil pressure by 5psi compared to the same weight Amsoil product.
I'm the guy that sold you the motor. Sorry I didn't chime in, I just found this post. If you still haven't straightened it out yet check the throttle shaft for a vacuum leak. If the carb you are using is the one that came with that motor, I machined the carb base plate, and pressed in oil light...
Or just install a MSD Programmable Box and lock out your distributor. Set your total to what ever you can run and and pull timing from the base on the graph as needed. Way better then any other way of doing it. precise, consistent, and tune-able....
Provided you're talking about the factory Super Stock Scoop then Flush with the back of the hood. This has been discussed many times but was proven that on a factory WO car it is flush. Mine, on the other hand, was installed an inch forward but that was before I knew any better.
So because of the responses of you guys I've decided to opt out of the BeCool and purchased a 26" wizard radiator with 1.25 tubes and brushless fans. stil big bucks at $1300 ($920 fan/relay option) but it really makes the fan/shroud package much thinner.
What HP where they rated for and were the tanks notched like the picture above? Just saying If the radiators you were running and have real world experiance with didnt cut it. Then not sure I want it.
Anyone else have personal experience with Be Cool on a High HP Street car?
Was the Be Cool model you used Cross Flow or Standard Tank on Top?
The main reason I was moving in this direction is the width on the core is 27.5 wide allowing for two 13" fans @ 1710cfm ea. or 3420cfm total.
I am ready to purchase a new BeCool Crossflow Radiator setup for my 66 Satellite and because I'm also running a Meziere electric water pump I have a choice of driver or passenger side Lower hose configuration. My question: Is there any advantages that I'm not seeing to run a passenger side lower...
I'm getting closer to putting paint on the Satellite and I want to paint the bumpers (Silver) body color to match the car. I want to strip the chrome and have the front bumper straightened and the rear bumper trim holes welded.
What's the best way to remove the chrome? Chemical? Mechanical...
So my 66 satellite has had a steering box "Drip" for a few months now and i decided to change the seal. I pulled the dust shield, took down the snap ring, pulled the metal washer and dug out the old seal. A real PITA to say the least. While installing the new seal I didn't have a socket or pipe...
