I guess the first question is, what are you willing to pay for one? Condition, options, color, availability are big factors. I am curious, of course, what the FBBO Mopar masters are going to say about this...
My first car and Mopar was a '70 Duster with a slant 6, 3 speed on the floor.. Of course I wanted it to be a V8, but at 13 years old, that thing was great for racing through the desert and learning how to handle a car. It was even forest green. Probably good thing it didn't have too much power.
I always kind of thought of those factory horsepower ratings were not real anyways. Something about rating them low so they could be insured. The "5 horsepower" difference just let the consumer know that the magnum was really a considerably more powerful motor than the regular 383. If they had...
So, I guess that I will wait until I get my new paintjob buffed, before I apply the stripe to the tail. I am waiting at least 6 weeks after the paint to buff. I will probably wait until spring, when it is nice and warm. I will need to order the gel sometime before then. Thanks for all the help!
I had better get some of that gel. Where do I get it? I have to put the stripe on my R/T. One more question, do you spray clear over the stripe, after you put it on and get it straight and all the bubbles out of it? Thanks,
Nice looking car. Any Chargers are "rare" these days, an RT is even more rare, and one in that good of condition is even more rare. I would guess that there is less than 1000 like that one out there in the world. Just a guess, but it is a rare car. Finish it up, for the future of the car, not...
I thought that it was pretty common from the factory. My car certainly has it. It is old and faded, but now I am hesitant to refresh it, because I dont want to be accused of hiding something!! haha.
It sounds to me like you just have to find one and see how much it will take to get the owner to sell it. For a complete, restored, good running car...50-100K ish...
I never knew that they had engines that turned backwards. Mind blown!! Imagine putting one of those in your car... 4 reverse gears and 1 forward. That would throw off an unknowing installer.
