You need to plant those rear tires, and have tires that will hold it . A radial or slick whatever you decide. Then start on the suspension once you see what the car is doing when it starts to hook. The drive train as it sits should handle the job.
There is a Facebook Group Called leaf...
Hmmm brand new tires? Did you do a good burnout before ?
Just saw your response.... you have to find out what those tires like. Driving around the box you could have picked up crap on the tires as well. I would stick to a consistent routine and work on duplicating it.
With my slicks the more...
Pretty consistent. Times
IMO you should be able to mustard up a better hole shot running the ET tires. 1.8x should be well within reach. Did you notice any spinning off the line ?
I looked over your engine setup and see your running the holley sniper kit. I'm not much help there. Can you...
Found a video from earlier this summer . This is at St.thomas dragway in Ontario .
This was the first pass of the day with a 12.7 ET.
Working on that launch.....
Oh yea volume up the start . Announcer giving a shout out for the charger !
Yes I am running a carb. I think I agree with what a few others have said, which is that I am simply getting air in to the system when I open up the cut out. The car still runs fine , with them open. If it really was leaning out as much as the gauge said, I would for sure be noticing some...
I'm going to have to check again but I have an In car vacuum gauage and I'm pretty sure that was reading the same . If the carb signal had been effected I would think it show on my gauge a change in vacuum and idle speed .
I'm running Hedman full length headers 13/4 primaries
I added some cut-outs or dumps, whatever you want to call them, to my 440. I am running an AEM wideband 02 sensor on the driver side bank. The cut-out is approx 10 inches from the opening of the cut-out.
When I run the car with the cut out closed I idle at around 14.0 AFR . When I open the...
Went to the track today for the local Mopar day. It seemed like great weather for drag racing.
I knocked off a new personal best AGAIN! . I had plans on trying a few new things but , every time I take it out the car just runs faster as is.
Car - 68 Charger R/T (3870 with driver )
Mild 440 -...
I'm hooked on the track now . My current best time is 12.7 and with a lot less motor than you. I am running slicks though.
Those M/T should serve you well. I'm guessing low 12s
Just curious as to when/ if guys start up grading the braking system for the strip? Or just in general ?
What would you guys say is limit or you start throwing in the towel for a stock brake system on a Bbody. I have a 68 charger with a stock R/T Bendix system ( front disc rear drum) . The...
Well good news is the shift problem is fixed. So simple grrrrrrr. The lower linkage rod, had slipped just a tiny bit, but the real problem was that when I had initially set it, I set it to the front of the detent, instead of the rear. All the the different pivitot points I got mixed up and had...
Car hooked nice. Still leaving off idle, next time I want to try and load the converter a bit and see what kind of 60ft I can get..
Once I get the damn shift linkage adjusted and can shift it where I want again that will help for sure. The damn thng slipped back into 2nd near the end of the...
