I see beanhead has replied but I was going to say I believe the thread length is different.

    383 Head Gasket Recomendations

For what it is worth: The Fel-pro perm-a-torq's, while nice, dropped the compression a bit too much for my liking since I have the open chambered 452 heads. So I went with the Mopar Performance steel shim head gaskets which compress down to .020. Got them from Summit, coated them with some...

    318 cylinder head removal

Yes. Removing the exhaust manifolds is the 1st thing that should be done for any number of reasons. Getting to all the head bolts being one of them.

    318 cylinder head removal

Here is what I have done with a sticky heads in the past: Put a couple of head bolts back in (one on each end of the block) but you don't want to tighten them up or cinch them down. A couple of twists in the threads will typically be enough but make sure you have them firmly into the threads...

440 only shows 25 lbs oil pressure at throttle and 5lbs while idling-After rebuild

X2. Plastigage at the very least. Probably loose main bearing tolerances would be my guess.

    Timing chain slack.

X2. Parts are cheap, labor is timely and expensive. Just pony up the coins and replace it, IMO.

    Opinions on Aluminium exhaust manifolds

I also seem to recall an article about Pontiac's attempt at using them saying they would leave little drops of molten alum on the strip after every launch too.

    318 bore wear limit????

    Sizzlin Under the Hood?

With the engine running (at idle) and with the nipples blocked off, pull one and see what kind of vacuum there is. You can hook your dizzy up to one that is showing manifold vacuum and see how it works but typically the later emission ladened cars used what was known as timed port vacuum port.

    Sizzlin Under the Hood?

Okay....just shooting from what I can see here which I admit isn't all that great.... The PVC should connect to the 3/8ths nipple that is just below the black hose on the right. The dizzy vacuum should be the smaller (5/16ths?) below that (looking at the picture). In looking at other...

Is it possible to identify 18 or 23 spline with trans in car?

It took about a day. Dropped it off one night and picked it up the next night. If you were a bit closer, I'd just use your services ;-)

    Sizzlin Under the Hood?

    Sizzlin Under the Hood?

No offense here, Robw13, but you seem to be splattered all over the place with your questions. So here is what I can best figure out for you in reverse order: 1.) Smoking carb. Could be a couple of things. Probably isn't smoke but gas vapor which could be caused a float level that is too...
