    Coolant capacity

It looks like the 440 in my 68 coronet RT takes about 18 quarts of coolant. Can anyone tell me approximately how much of that coolant is in the engine block? Also, if the two black drain plugs are polled does that drain the block almost completely?

    No clutch pedal repaired

I thought everyone was talking about starting the car while it is in first and then driving it till you have to stop. You would then have to kill the engine and then restart it in first. Are you now saying you can change gears while going down the road with the clutch engaged?

    No clutch pedal repaired

I was less than 10 miles from my house, and would’ve preferred to limp the car home instead of having it towed, but I don’t understand how that would have been possible. Are you suggesting that I could have started the car with it in gear?

    No clutch pedal repaired

Just last Friday I met Lou Mancini of Mancini Racing fame. He was at my buddies house working on his 340 six pack. Today, just a few days after I saw him, the Mancini Racing store near me came through with the new bracket. Pretty cool coincidence

    No clutch pedal repaired

Driving up Gratiot Avenue, I went to shift and the clutch pedal went down to the floor with no resistance at all. I threw the trans into neutral, quickly got over to the right hand lane, and had just enough momentum to turn into a driveway. I don’t know if this was a sign, but it was the...

The exhaust manifolds are almost certainly not the HP manifolds. If you list the part numbers I can tell you if they’re HP manifolds or not

That makes more sense, but it really doesn’t change anything. Those last four numbers are just a serial number, So that extra number doesn’t affect the assembly date.

383 made in Trenton, assembly date October 6, 1967. Unfortunately, with the R stamp and no HP on the pad, it is a lower horsepower motor.

Regardless, so far, all signs point to this being an excellent buy. Just for the heck of it, when you get home and check to see what that letter actually is, you should also check what is stamped on the top front of the block Near the intake

If it is a P it looks like that stands for premium fuel. It would still seem like you were missing one numeral though
