After running up to temp in heat, I could hear my afb boiling, car at 195. It would boil over into the engine. Wood insulator stopped it. Blocking crossover also, using non oxy fuel?
Not to get " off topic" but plastic fuel filters are the #1 cause of engine fires, especially when banging around.. . But of course, it's up to you to change or not
Interesting, that's actually low. I'd guess you've got a hanging up float, bad needle seat, or possibly warped upper part of the carb ( I've seen that on a afb)
What's the reason for that? Flooding out the performer @ idle? I was able to get it to run on the idle circuit finally but upping timing like everyone said, how ever, can't get it to " lope " nicely. Plugs look good, good power, no bog. I put 5 lb springs in the metering rods, and tried #3s too
Well, so far so good. Jumped timing up to 25, and was able to back idle down. Better vac , 11ish, but still sounds like it's missing at idle, not loping. Power is WAY better. Gonna install the FBO kit, and 1 light spring.
Yep, this is the first thing I'm going to try, tho still scared of that much timing, but I'll try. If it helps, then he probably will go for the FBO kit
