How much different are the 67/69s rear DODGE letters againts 70s?… talking about the R/Ts of course. It seems pretty much the same. Maybe is about the size?
I know, old thread, but I have a friend in Venezuela searching for one Coronet 70 R/T finish panel. Nicer as posible on a tight budgect considering will need to be overseas shipped. Having no one, any decent panel nice priced is good.
Venezuelan assembled Coronets “R/T”s got regular finish...
Ok, plugs are not a problem. So lenses are the same, but housing are exactly the same and bolt the same?
( 74 Charger got a diff plug from 72/73 too ;) )
we have 2 trunk finish panels :headbang:. Second one was bought just for the emblem... and guess what ? just paid $40 LOL. of course with small pits, but easy to restore.
anyway the main question was not for that, just for the tail light related parts
ok, so:
All 68 Plymouth B body use the same quarter extension
All 68 Plymouth B body use the same tail light housing
All 68 Plymouth B body use the same tail light lense
All 68 Plymouth B body use the same lense bezel BUT the finish makes the difference
well somebody told me the GTX got a diff lense to acomodate the bezel over the lense. Can't recall if the same source told me another difference, related to housing &/or quarter extension
ok, sooooo, quarter extension is the same ? somebody told me once that this piece was somehow diff to accomodate some of the lense trim for GTXs, or something like that
now about tail light assembly itself?
( we are aware of the deck lid panel... we have 2 of them :) )
Hey Guys!
what differences are on tail lights assemblies for 68 Plymouths.
A friend of mine will begin to restore SOMEDAY a 68 440 4 speeds GTX, and need to know some differences he can find on tails, like if this car uses a diff tail light assembly than the rest... also talking about...
Am I lost ? or something I dunno?

but the VIN was partially stamped on fender tag since 69, Am I right ?
Sorry, Since cars in Vzla didn't get Fender tags and VIN plates are way diff from USA build cars I' not really familiar with these. This 68 GTX is obviouslly imported from USA, because GTXs ( and any Plymouth 2 doors B...
Next question...
Shouldn't some of the fender tag numbers match with some of the VIN plate ?

And where should be the hidden VIN tags or stamping numbers in a 68 GTX
I'm talking about a real GTX not the Argentina one ( which is an A body based ). Chrysler of Venezuela assemblied cars with USA CKD, so our Mopars are the same than yours with just with lower options. My 74 Charger is the same than your 74 Charger with minor differences on equipment.
However 68...
Dunno, but I have NOS kinda Nice deck Finish panels :jerk: LOL
they are for SS, but with just a black finish touch will be ready for GTX :D
check the for sale forum, exterior parts :D
yes an option is get an used automatic one, CUT the side to convert it on manual, get the driver side cover panel, carpet and molding, top plate and both boots
but still that can be around $1000...BEGINING ON AN USED ONE.
I would be more worried about PARTS prices going down than cars. There is not sense restored cars going down on value for a while parts still are on same prices. Would make your investment to worth NOTHING against what you spent
