It depends completely on what you're doin and how the engine is built. If you're racing, or have a very hot street engine where clearances are loose, you want a lot of volume and pressure. Like Don Garlits said run a loose motor and a lotta oil pressure.
Like Cranky said, for most...
That does look good! I went back and counted the leaves in that one shot and I count nine leaves. There may be one more that's hidden by the tire. I cannot imagine what the hell kinda springs those are. I don't know of any S/S spring that has nine or more leaves. That's crazy.
What measurements do you need? The stock holes are 2" further forward than your existing holes. What I would do would be drill two sets of holes on each side. One high and one low. That way you can sorta taylor the height a little bit. Just like the holes that are there now but 2" forward.

ALL 4 barrel Holleys have float bowl vents. That was my point. You are absolutely 100% correct about disabling the vent system. In fact, it can and usually does have a negative impact on mileage, since one of its promary functions is to return fuel vapor BACK to the tank. Fuel vapor=FUEL which...
I always use the cheap **** mounts. But I do it when I am originally installing the engine. I take the mount brackets and mounts, assemble them to the frame mounts and tighten them down. Drill a 3/8" hole through the bracket, mount and frame pad and run a 3/8" bolt and self locking nut on the...
