You will have to loosen (possibly remove) the 2 bolts on the column floor collar (and maybe the 4 floor column bolts) for install and adjustment, then tighten after everything is assembled approximately where you want it.
I needed a pump with brackets and found one cheap on ebay. Then I rebuilt it with a rebuild kit. I saved lots of money, and the original parts fit perfectly.
I did mine a few years back and I believe the kits are all the same no matter where you buy them (rockauto would be fine, I think I got mine at napa). The kits are for the inside of the pump so I don't think it matters that you have a cooler.
I think the question depends on the condition of your car and what you want to get out of it.
If your car is in good condition, I would start with a front sway bar. You might decide that’s the only thing you need. I’m curious how the larger wheels would affect things.
On my car (318 cruiser)...
Guys I have been trying to rebuild my worn out column - The 2 springs that work on the shifter lever (one in the housing and one that sits inside the lever itself) are both broke into multiple pieces.
Does anyone know where I can get replacements for these?
Thanks Much!
I have had the same experience. My 67 originally came without a sway bar, and it handled like an oil barge. The sway bar and all new bushings in the front really flattened out the turns, but when I hit a good bump, makes a lot more noise.
I suspect it’s the price of admission for a sway bar.
Do a search at any auto parts store, napa/amazon etc. The Saginaw kit is common and universal. The overhaul is relatively straightforward and easy to do. I did mine after looking at some youtube videos.
One example:
Why replace? If not damaged, buy a rebuild kit (new seals etc) and do it yourself. It will be as good as new, and I suspect better quality than replacement units.
I had the same issue with my firm-feel a arms. After a little bit of time and some colorful words, I was able to coerce them into place with a hammer and a block of wood.
I learned alot about mopar brakes from theramman

I was lucky that I found a rebuilt OEM booster on feebay. Had I not found an OEM booster, I would have gotten one of these similar looking new ones in the video, they are available from...
I got mine via ebay. There are a few outfits that specialize in sale and restoration of brake parts (Dwayne the Ram Man for example), but the price from those guys wont be cheap. Good luck on your search.
Bergman sells the extended coupler. So if you go with the Borg box, the bergman coupler will allow you to use your existing column without modifications.
Good article to take a look at if you are considering a Borg box...
