Wonderful work. If you ever decide to mass produce these give me a shout. Also, where were you in '66/'67 when Chrysler was designing theses dash boards. They could have used you.
Your work is quite impressive. Would love to have one for my Belvedere, but yes, it is cost prohibitive for me at this time. I see by the vents in the dash it's a A/C car. Just wondering where you placed the heater/AC controls. Again, impressive work!
If you are speaking about the mylar channel that attaches to the leading edge of the door glass, I repaired my original parts. Here's a thread I posted. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/mylar-window-track-guide-restoration-attempt.207311/#post-911750414
You can get new...
I received an email from Year One this morning with a 25% discount code. BUT it had expired midnight last night. I called YO, spoke with a nice fellow named Jim and he extended the discount for my order. Saved about $350.
Not really crazy about CI or YO but this Kudos to Jim for helping out.
Thanks. Called Pro Line. They said 20-30 weeks. I'm trying to see who else carries Legendary. Legendary told me my car is 'not popular' so it may take a little longer.
Next spring is fine. Thanks for the sale info. Waiting for Black Friday seems like a good idea. If they have a mailing list I think I should subscribe.
I understand Legendary is probably the way to go for new seat covers. However, I'm not keen on their shipping costs - $150 to ship 4 hours down the NYS Thruway, and emails about pick up have not been answered.
Are there alternative vendors/manufacturers without sacrificing quality?
There’s a company in Latham NY, near Albany, called Dr. Vinyl. They did my ‘66 Belvedere pad. $75 looks like new going on 5 years.
May be worth a call.
If you're really ambitious you can drill out the rivet, tap the knob and replace the rivet it with a hex screw. Years ago, before repos were available, that's what I did. After some adjustments to the length of the screw and a little loctite it worked fine. I have an extra handle I can send you...
The dash was restored and painted in MOPAR suede paint which I understand is no longer available and was $125 a quart from Instrument Specialties. There are many posts here about painting the dash and/or powder coating it. Lots of good ideas from some very smart people.
These people repaired my dash pad for $75. Looks like new but was some time ago. Not sure how bad your's is but you may want to give them a call. Also, consider shipping costs today as prices have skyrocketed and they are on the other side of the country...
