That's exactly why I questioned it.. the 426 looks weird. It's a standard bore for a 426 (4.25). Had my buddy check it.. it's a fairly fresh motor with standard pistons.. I got it cheap .with a real 426 block as well.
I need some help with the ID on this block. It says 426 on the pad in the front with a V41 and hp and a few other numbers but the block casting numbers I looked up could be 413 or 426... what is it lol

Agreed the cam is really aggressive... but for what I paid for the whole thing is less than half of what the machine work is worth. . I paid $500 for it all with a set of 1.5 harland sharp roller rockers. I am Not sure what heads to use just yet.. it'll have to be something with a large chamber...
I just picked up a 440 short block from my buddy for a really really good deal.. its a 69 block. 030. L2295 trw forged pistons. Line honed, decked etc. Ly rods. All arp hardware forged crank gear drive. Balanced. Set up for external oiling... never been fired... now the problem is the deck...
Hey guys I just got a short block from a buddy. It was built a long time ago and was never run. It has a roller shaft in it with the numbers 689356 on the back of it ..I took a pic of the scribed numbers on the front. Does anyone have any idea what it is the numbers on the front are ? 308R10...
This motor is sketchy at best lol.. head bolts weren't even tight on one side lol... I bought the car knowing it had motor troubles so I am not too upset lol
Good old antisieze.. we use it at work when we interference fit stainless steel shafts and wheels together.. Some days by the time we are done you look like the tin man. Lol
I bought a 67 belvedere with a 383 in it and it had a head gasket leaking in it.. apparently this motor was " rebuilt " 12 plus years ago and sat on a stand.. it had steel shim head gaskets and when the guy fired it all the antifreeze leaked in the oil.. I am going to do a full tear down because...
