I have noticed an odd condition in my radiator. 512 in motor with a be cool radiator/cap/resovior. I run distilledd water and water wetter only as this is primarily a track car. After normal operation, if the car sits for a week there will still be pressure in the radiator when I remove the...
This is the kit that I put in my 64 dodge with a 512. Even in Florida heat temps never get past 195. Install was a piece of cake.

Maybe someone can help me understand this....I was/am under the impression that a thermostat will not have an effect on the temperature a engine runs at, just when the thermostat begins to allow coolant to flow through it.
If you have a 190 degree thermostat, when conditions cause your car to...
Check your PM's. I have a solution that may work for you. Plus, I am located in Tampa, so you can test everything out to see if it fits before buying anything.
I would assume most people running electric fans are also running a temp gauge. How/where are the individual sending units located? Or can both be run off one sending unit? I would not think that would be the case since the sending units may not be calibrated to work the same.
Let me correct a statement, after looking at pics of my motor, the current temp gauge sensor is coming out of the plug by the heater hoses (not the intake as I stated in my original post). Is there another plug I should look for?
So I just ordered an electric pusher fan to supplement the mechanical fan I have on my stroker motor. Where is the best location to install the temp sensor for the fan? I already have a temp gauge sensor coming out of the intake manifold. Is there a "T" fitting that can be used there to hold...
My newly built 493 in my 69RR is now running great, cooling properly and I could not be happier...well that part isn't true. I can always be happier!
The motor currently has a 7 blade fixed fan. Is there a benefit to switching to a clutch fan? How do they work? Is it as simple as removing...
So, after installing my newly built 493 stroker, I was concerned at how hot it was running. Even in the cooler weather we've been seeing down here lately, coolant temps quickly soared north of 220 (180 stat...7 blade fan, not a clutch fan). I was only taking short shake down runs so I never...
Not trying to make a numbers matching car, the radiator does its job just fine. Even without a shroud. However, the engine is currently out at the machine shop for a stroker build and I figured this would be the best time to address the shroud. I will see if I can make one of the shrouds I...
Attached are pics of the radiator in my 69 RR. When I purchased the car, there was not a fan shround and I thought it would be wise to add one. I have bought two different shrouds claiming to fit this year/make/model as well as brackets to mount the shroud. So far nothing fits. None of the...
