My 68 had the partial vin like above, mine was built in march 68, also had the last 4 of the vin stamped on the block by the oil sending unit.

my 68 runner, its a 4spd but you should be able to position it around the shift handle for the auto, two small screws into the metal behind the pad and another hole for the wiring

back in the day a friend of mine had a 68 satellite we always thought it was a 318 2bbl, till one day I checked the no.'s and it was a 273 2bbl.

I've got a 68 RR with build sheet and window sticker and the window sticker says performance hood paint , $17.50 so it was an option on RR. if that helps

VFN out of Ill. makes everything except the doors

what hood was on a 69 non ram air car? can't picture it . looks like a 70 air cleaner also.

a guy on moparts in the oct b-body parts last page , looked pretty nice. but he was from Canada , I've seen 69repops but not 68s.

you didn't say what car or year but if a stick car bellhousing was painted with the motor so engine color, trans should be natural cast gray looking.

are you sure the speedo gear is clocked correctly in the adapter?

engine block stamp on a 383 is below the dist on a angled part of the block , would have a letter for the year and then 383 stamp, the vin no. is stamped on the side of the block on a flat portion just above the oil pan rail pass side I think, 69 should be the whole vin no.

what weight of oil are you using?

if it works leave it alone, some people put in gear lube and then it leaks out of lower seal. if it an't broke dont' fix it.

there is a snap ring on both sides of the bearing under the turn signal switch , I'd check that both are in they're grooves Russ

that's a deal an a half, don't tell any other mopar guys until after you buy it. after you look at of course!
