Iagree. Yours doesn't resemble a rat rod...50 years ago if a rodder had a choice between spending money on a faster motor or a paint job...most went the motor route
"muscle rat rod" I hate the term "rat rod" and to add muscle just makes it worse. A "rat rod" to me is just a term to make an old car look like crap all over again. Or pull an old body out of the field, get it running, add to the rust with stupid pipes, ornaments, whatever. Saying that, a car in...
mine sits high as I have caltrac mono spring 1 inch over and caltrac traction bars. BUT the car I had 7's on was a 67 GTX and had plenty of room at stock level
the 67 came stock with 14 inch. I have 8.5 cragars (store backset) on the rear of my 67 R/T with 255 x 15 and have no issue with rubbing...I also had 255x15 on 7 inch and they worked fine also. R/T and GTX had similar wheel wells.
I believe the 69 also came stock with 14 inch wheels. The 69 had...
If it backfires on start..one thing is there is alot of gas vapor in the exhaust from cranking it over. I would check the fuel line route and also the issue with the headers/starter as stated above...you may also check the timming
one of those buttheads......ok....Great job on sticking to your budget....You'll be much happier working on a car you got at a fair price vs over spending
10 to 12.....15 if you gotta have it......But......There are butt heads out there who will think it's worth 20k or more and 60k when finished...For your sake I hope none attend
The mono and caltracs usually go together...You can get a 1" over or 1" under stock.....stock springs....depends on condition, car and owners preference...the R/T and GTX in 67 had 7 leaf on one side...6 on the other...I went to the 1 over on My 67 R/T with the caltrac...my springs were cooked
Molnar crank BUT it's not leaking around the crank,my opinion, it's coming around the sides of the gasket holder.between it and the block.others with eagles had the same issue...same fix
built a 426 hemi....stock rear main leaked like a pig...(after installing motor in car)..replaced with another in car...leaked like a little pig...bought a billet rear main from mancinni...took 12 thou off it..installed while in the car....has been dry, like new since. Thanks Mancini
I've changed things on my car for my convenience....personally,I would not want an exact numbers matching car as I would be concerned about breaking it or poor performance....I'm Happy with My R/T....wrong color/wrong color interior/wrong rearend/wrong motor/...
