I bought my MP452 heads (Eddy's with straight plugs) specifically because they are made in the USA.......like me. Being proud of America and of American craftsmanship may be old fashioned, but I, for one, am willing to spend the extra few dollars for the best.
With a 273, the trans should be a 904. No vacuum lines on either a 904 or a 727. Throttle pressure is felt by the trans through a linkage going to the carb.
I have found that with machine shop prices being what they are, you're sometimes more cost effective by purchasing aluminum heads. I'm partial to American made Eddies but there are others available. BTW, what do you use for bait when you fish for ice (lol).
I believe that there is a 3.09 ratio first gear available to replace the stock 2.66 in a stock 833 trans.
Do the math and you'll find that you can run a pretty small rear gear and still have the out of the hole grunt and maintain 4th gear low RPM cruising.
I would guess that Brewers would be a...
What about an aftermarket 5 or 6 speed with deeper gears and a 1:1 high gear ratio? Then you could run 2.94's or 2.76's and still have the torque multiplication in the lower gears.

Are you sure that Comp is the best choice? I believe that the lobes are ground using Chevy lifter specs. Mopar lifters allow for more aggresive ramps. Racer Brown cams are specific for Mopars, I believe. I have used his cams with great results. You may want to call with all your specifications...
I have done my car both ways. Kept the A990 grille and cloned hood "just in case", but currently have more of a stock appearance. My A990 grille is much nicer than the originals but still looks "cobbled together" in comparison to a stock 4 headlight grille. The swap only takes a short amount of...
I hear you about the tent for mice. I have had a lot of success (or luck) by having open tupperware bowls containing mothballs located in the interior, trunk, and under the hood. I will tell you though, my wife doesn't like the smell in the car after I remove the containers before taking the car...
I did everything in the factory turquoise for my '65. Aluminum waterpump and housing, heads, intake, even the valley pan gasket. I did leave the chrome on my old Direct Connection rocker covers. I like the subtle look, but that is just personal preference.
318 and a three speed column shift I would assume is pretty rare. That is actually my favorite combination in any old car. Never been able to find one that is half way clean though. Having said all that, If you are going big block, there is no need to beat up the inner fenders. Think about it...
I have absolutely no overheating problem in any weather with my '65 B body. Stock 1965 426 radiator, 496 inch stroker motor, 906 iron heads, hemi aluminum waterpump and housing. I have a stock type shroud and stock type fan. You must have another problem. Do you have an auxilliary trans cooler...
Big blocks have always been a pain to get the intake sealed properly (and the rear main too). You need to do a super cleaning job. There are paper gaskets available to use with a new bathtub gasket. If you go that route, make sure that you get the thin ones. Use RTV on the pan gasket ends and at...
