    70 glove box liner question

To finish this off: I removed the fuse block flap by removing the three staples. Used the same staples to resecure the bottom overlap. Then moved the fuse block flap to the correct position on top. I just hot glued the flap instead of using staples. I did however use a silver marker to give the...

    70 glove box liner question

I contacted Detroit and haven't heard back. I have bought many things from them and happy with their product line. I think they just missed on this one. Maybe they have it already figured out? I sat and stared at the flap thinking I must be missing something and didn't have the old one to go by...

    70 glove box liner question

Pretty sure I bought from Detroit muscle but not 100%. Looking at their website and their part, the tags look the same as what I have. AND the flap is mounted incorrectly!!! Flap is on the same side as the slots like mine. That's wrong. Classic Industries' liner is correct and looks like...

    70 glove box liner question

Thanks for the pic and yes, mine is made wrong. If you look at my pic, the flap is mounted on the same side as the slots along the edge. On yours, the slots are opposite the flap mounting. That makes sense and the way it should be. I don't remember where i bought it from and has been too many...

    70 glove box liner question

You are correct and the flap should cover the rear of the block. But the short part of the flap where attached to the liner is in the same position as the mounting strap for the fuse block. How does that piece go around the mounting strap? Do I cut a hole/slot in it for the strap to slide through?

    70 glove box liner question

I bought a replacement glove box liner for my '70 R Runner. Everything makes sense except for the cardboard flap that should cover the backside of the fuse block. See pics. With the fuse block mounting brace welded to the dash frame, I don't see how the lower flap of the cover will fit over or...

    Dynamat or ?

I used Ballistic SSBK and like the black foil and like it. I was also concerned about an asphalt smell. I molded rubber for 40 years and all elastomers are not created equal. It is very possible to add fillers to cheapen the product and what I was worried about with the less expensive products...

    Bill Edwards

Ssnake-oyl is still in business as of a couple of years ago. I checked their pricing and was steep. I sent mine to Bill Edwards and waited. What I got back was nice at a more reasonable price. Ssnake-oyl also did a set of Kangol belts for an old Mercedes I have. Very expensive but also very...

Plastic "seal" near interior door handle or regulator - '70 RR

Thanks guys! Just what the doctor ordered. Saved me a bunch of time on this. Looks like 3/64" tape is correct for the door and vent glass?

Plastic "seal" near interior door handle or regulator - '70 RR

That sounds like the right part and about where it was on the part drawing. I would certainly appreciate if you could send a pic. Piecing this puzzle of the door guts and the qtr. window guts is some project. It was all apart I bought the car. Thanks so much!

Plastic "seal" near interior door handle or regulator - '70 RR

When I took apart the doors guts on my '70 RR many, many years ago, I found this odd looking white plastic piece. I cannot remember where it went and may have been in the bottom of the door at the time. Looking at the parts diagrams, looks like it may attach near the interior door handle or the...

Mounting the trunk divider in a '70 RR

Ok thanks on the clamp plates. Had those wrong. Have any idea on the tabs that are bent outward on the support braces (circled in red)? Thanks as always!

Mounting the trunk divider in a '70 RR

I have read several threads on this subject and know that the rear seat back grab hook also holds the divider up. In addition there is a clamp plate. All good so far. But on my '70 RR, I have two tabs that are bent out along the braces that also might secure the divider towards the bottom edge...

'70 B Body dome light wiring routing

Oh, excellent! I have the three clips along the roof side in a bag but didn't know exactly where they went. Looks there is a special grommet where the wire goes into the A pillar hole. I didn't think about that. I can probably find a standard grommet for that. It looks like you have the dome...

'70 B Body dome light wiring routing

This part was off the car when I bought it. I know the wire runs along the left roof rail and then down the A pillar. Can someone show the specific clips and routing along the roof supports? I can't find anything in the manuals. Also, there are four holes on the transverse roof support where...

    Quarter window assembly

I added a thin rubber shim under the clips because they didn't fit super snug and didn't want them to rattle. Pretty sure this is a water shield and looks like an afterthought. My car is almost 90% apart and starting to come back together. One day I shall attempt rebuilding these rear quarter...
