Front fender gaps on a 1970 charger

My 70 has some old wreck repairs. Im trying to see if my fender gaps are what they should be. Im getting 53 1/8 just in front of the rear top bolt for the fenders by the hinges and 51 3/16 up front at the end of the fenders. Anyone have measurements off a straight or unmolested car? Thanks.

Ripples on 1970 charger inner fender…any concern or common?

I started stripping the engine bay and noticed some ripples on the driver inner fender. I know my car had some front end damage from a wreck. The grill is bent and the driver fender was replaced. I measured the rails and they seem straight. I had planned on just doing the lower radiator support...

Doing floors…safe to do it with car sitting on suspension or essential it’s level on jackstands?

I should be doing floors on my 70 charger sometime soon ish. AMD finally came through. I am working out of a two car garage and it’d be a beast to get it on jack stands and have proper room to open doors etc. I could do this in the driveway, but that’s uncovered. I do not have an engine or...

    Tips on floorpans…

I am working on drivetrain, and I’m guessing it’s best to at least have great floors before installing. I will need to replace the rear footwells and at least patch parts of the front. The previous owners left 2 layers of carpet in the car while sitting outside, leading to some crusties. Is it...

    Front floors install

I’m assuming full AMD pans take less time than a bunch of patches and deliver a better result? For those that have done full front floor pans and rear footwells, did you just level the car on jack stands or did you just let the car sit on its suspension? Mine aren’t terrible, but there are...

Need measurement for hood scoop on 70 charger

My order is in, and I went with the 4 1/4” 68 dart/cuda scoop. My question is how far from the cowl should the scoop begin? They said they have a good idea of where it should go but wanted to verify. Can anyone with a 68-70 charger measure from the cowl to the center of the air cleaner? They...

Best way to ship a quarter panel?

I have a 68 charger full quarter that a fellow member would like shipped to Washington from Texas. What is the best and most cost effective way to do so? It’s in the cardboard sleeve, but out of the box. So it would need to be packaged or crated.

    Replacing lower radiator support

Mine is all bent up, and I plan on replacing with AMD. Seems straightforward enough. Put the car on jackstands, cut the spot welds and replace? Or does it need to be braced. The K frame is still in, which should give the rails enough support right?

Glasstek Dart/Cuda Hemi Scoop hood for 70 charger

Looking at getting a scoop hood for my charger. It’ll have a 400 stroker with an Indy single plane topped with a Holley 950 Ultra XP. I have a 995 cfm king demon dominator, but I’d need to run a spacer or find another manifold. First off, has anyone had any experience with glasstek? The scoop...

    Picking up a 70 charger hood…thoughts?

The hood on my car is fixable I believe, however it’d need the skin and frame separated and will need some patch work. I found a hood locally for a good deal, and think this’ll clean up easier. Should be picking it up tomorrow for $450. It’s got some songs and dents, and some underside rust...

Does anyone sell these cowl patch panels?

I know AMD sells the entire thing. There’s a couple other small areas on mine that I could patch, but it’s decent. It just seems like it might be easier to patch than deal with removing this much structure. Does anyone sell these upper cowl vent pieces? Mine look like they are toast.

AMD rear crossmember issues 1968 charger

I have the rear frame rails braced and have removed the crusty old crossmember. I just mocked up the AMD version, and it doesn’t seem quite right. The flange at the top is noticeably shorter and the bolt holes in the flanges below seem like they are closer to the panel than on the original. Am...

    70 Charger bumper fit issue

I’ll preface this by stating I know the car was in an accident at some point hence the blue driver front fender. I have measured the frame rails and they seem to be square and within the 1/8” tolerances. The bumper appears to be bent a bit in places. The grill was seemingly cracked from the...

Front frame rail, patch vs replace

Working on the cowl area on my 68. At some point I’ll need to work on the driver frame rail. The ~10-12” past the crossmember is thin and has pinholes on the lower sides and underneath. The rest seems solid. I have a full AMD replacement piece. I planned on replacing the whole thing, but if...

    Rusty lower front roof bow...ideas?

My 68 Charger sat outside with a vinyl top for years...and now needs an a pillar patch, roof skin, etc. This lower support is pitted and thin for sure on mine. I have another I cut out of a 70 RR hardtop donor, but it’s also a bit rusty. Does anyone repop these? What is this even called? They...

    Charger A pillar patch question

I have a crusty 68 I have been working on. It needs the a small section of the driver a pillar patched on 2/3 sides. I have a donor from a 70 roadrunner. My plan was to remove all the spot welds, separate the panels, blast/primer the inside and mig or tig them onto the car one section at a time...

    Proper positioning of trunk pan

I have to replace the back of the car aside from the frame. Wheelhouses are shot. I bought amd 3” extended inners. How can I get the trunk pan centered without the wheelhouses to clamp to? Or do I need to buy a $300 set of wheelhouses to temporarily weld in and tack the trunk in? I notice the...

Tips for lining up panels...order of operations

Long story short, I have a 68 charger and will basically be doing the entire back of the car aside from rails. I have the trunk out and will be welding in braces to replace the rear crossmember. I was thinking to replace the trunk next. However, it seems most guys use the inner wheelhouses to...

Rear floor pan rust...patch or replace?

I’m basically rebuilding the entire back half of my car except for the frame rails. New trunk, dropoffs, wheelhouses, full quarters, plenum, Dutchman, tail panel, valence, crossmember, etc. the part under the back seat has some rust in the passenger side only. I’ll attach some photos. It’s not...

Tips for stabilizing before removing rear body panels

I am finally about to dig into my 68 charger...it’s leveled on jack stands. Just the shell, but the rear end is still suspended from the leaf springs. Should this be removed before I take off the quarters, tail panel, etc? Clearly I don’t want anything twisting on me I know there are differing...
