Any suggestions on oil weight for an original 440 six pack 1969 Bee with 50k miles? I live in Iowa but the car never gets started when the weather is below 32 degrees F.
The attached picture from the service manual suggests a 10w40 or 20w40 if it doesn't get started much under 32 degrees F.

Anyone have some pics of how/where you ran your cooler lines? I got a new B&M stacked plate cooler for my 73 Charger and am trying to decide where I want to run my lines to mount on the front side of the radiator.
Thanks!
I have a 1973 Charger. I am looking to add a transmission cooler. Looking to get a male fitting that threads into the radiator with a barbed end on the other side. Does anyone know what the thread is on the lower two holes in the radiator?
Thanks!
I have pressed on the harmonic balancer on my 400 after replacing the timing chain and gears. I have a deep pulley. Any suggestions on the easiest way to keep engine from turning over while trying to torque it down to 135 ft lbs?
I am putting my timing cover, water pump housing, water pump, and new oil pump on my 400. I have heard people suggest gaskets, gasket maker, or both together. I am leaning towards just gaskets after cleaning the surfaces very well. They have no significant scratches in the mating surfaces.

I am putting on a new oil pump. I am hearing that I should pack it with Vaseline to aid in priming. I am planning on spinning the pump with a drill like I did in the past when I lost prime after letting my oil drain overnight.
Any thoughts on if the Vaseline is a good or bad idea on a bb mopar...
I am replacing my motor mount on the drivers side in a 1973 Charger. I have had the part for a while and have no box or instructions. The rubber insert on the spindle seems to have two arrows pointing the same direction. Anyone know if this should be put in a certain direction?
Thanks!
I have a 1973 Charger with a 400 (single bolt cam). I just replaced my timing chain and gears with a double roller. I did not touch the cam. When I torque back down my cam bolt should I use thread locker? If so blue or red?
Should I use my original bolt or should I replace?
Thanks!
Have the cover off and looking to install new seal. Since it goes in from the inside is there a tool you all use to install without hitting on the lip of the seal?
I have a factory 400 and planning to do a cam swap and then put it in my 73 Charger. I am taking out the factory cam and putting in a mopar purple shaft cam. I have never done this before but will have help from someone. What parts do I need to have ready?
I know I need:

Years ago I bought some 3.91 gears for my 8 1/4 rear. While I now have an 8 3/4 in the car, to use the 8 1/4 in another car I have never been able to determine if the 3.91s would fit in my 2.71 carrier. See the excerpt below from Hemmings. I have seen it other places as well. They reference one...
Ok. So I know everyone likely has their favorites, but looking to get some kind of general consensus. I have a 74 400 stock engine siting on an engine stand that came out of a car and ran pretty well. It will be going into a 73 Charger that currently has a 400 4 barrel (750 Edelbrock), old...
My car has a 3.55 suregrip 8 3/4 I just put in. I am planning to build a 470 stroker motor but in the meantime I have a basically stock 400 that just came out of a car (ran well) January 74 dated casting block - that I am considering trying to hop up a bit and put in the car while I build my 470...
Ok so I have a 73 Charger 400 4bbl with 727 and 3.55 Suregrip gears and factory high performance 440 exhaust manifolds. I also have a bare 400 block sitting in the garage. Looking to start an engine build and not sure where to start.
I am shooting for something with around 400 to 450 horsepower...
So we have a number of 8 3/4 open rearends sitting around. I have a 73 Charger with a 400 4 barrel w/dual exhaust. Looking to put together a 451 stroker, but before that I want to make sure my drivetrain will handle it. Currently have an 8 1/4 suregrip w/2.71 gears in it. Great on highway...
