In the process of a refresh / rebuild of a '70 440 that will return to a '65 Belvedere. Right now it has '906 heads, running a Mopar Purple cam, E-Performer intake, 750cfm Brawler, MDS ignition, 727 a/t with new convertor being built by Turbo Action.
Given the option of any supplier presently...
The '70 440 has been pulled out of my 65 Belvedere for a Fall 2021 refresh/rebuild. The motor mounts look like they've seen better days and since everything is apart ... good time for replacement.
However...it appears that sources like Mancini and Shumacher ( however now it's stated that...
My 65 Belvedere sat thru 2020 due to just about everything being closed. Now as I am starting to get back into it, I'm finding "issues" that need correcting. It was never meant to be a strip car, just cruise nights, though I may "get on it" a little once in a while. 99% cruise nights
Any...
As stated in messages on other boards, I purchased this 65 Belvedere not knowing a lot about the initial build and the elderly gentleman I purchased it from had a lot of " senior moments" as to what was in it......and just to clarify. I'm going on 71yo, so if I make a"senior moment" comment...
When I bought my 65 Belvedere it had, beforehand, been sitting for a while. I don't like the B&M Quicksilver shifter at all and want to replace it with something more up to date and easier to work with. The 727 still has a normal P R N D 2 1 pattern so do not have to go into something radical...
Anyone know of an experienced, reliable TF727 pushbutton trans rebuilder within 20-50 miles of Rhode Island ?
Key words: experienced & reliable
Thank you.
I have a good , unturned journals, 440 steel, stick shift crank, and a set of 440-6pak, refurbished and bronze-bushed rods. I was considering a 400 block build-up for 451ci. Which year block and which heads should I use to get a reliable pump-gas ( under 93 octane ) engine ? Or should I go...
I want to get rid of the pushbutton TF behind my '64's 318 Poly. While original, I want to go to a newer 727, with a floorbox....and hopefully one that I can later use behind a RB.
What year trans can I use and will it be a bolt-up to the present 318 poly ?
Thank you.
I want to swap the open 8 3/4, small pinion, '741, tapered axle casting differential , for a '489, SureGrip, 3:23 or 3:55 R&P...the whole rear end.. I'm led to believe that a 68-70 8 3/4 out of a BBody has the same spring perch width so the springs will be a direct bolt-up, and I'll lose only...
I have acquired a 2X4bbl intake for the 318 poly ( casting 1822004 ) which I believe, if not NOS then the cleanest I've ever seen. Anyone know what the carbs should be ? Or which, easier to locate, later aftermarket 4bbls would work? The motor will be basically stock, with headers, cyl head...
Having a '64 Belvedere, I have the weak '741 carrier and tapered axles. I want to upgrade to a 1965+ '742 or '489 carrier with a the clutch-type posi ( Sure Grip ), however am confused by the available swap info.
According to what I have read, B Bodies from 62-70 using the 8 3/4 diff have...
