According to my FSM, my '66 318A takes a 24-MB-48 battery. Of course that's a 1966 specification which I'm sure doesn't cross reference to today's batteries. I'm guessing the 24 is the group size. MB is Mopar Battery? and 48 AH capacity.
I can't find info on CCA and AH ratings on the web...
I just read an interesting article at Madelectrical.com http://madelectrical.com/electricaltech/brighter-headlights2.shtml regarding the benefits of installing headlight relays. Has anyone done this conversion or familiar with this 'upgrade'? If so, are there schematics showing the process? Not...
Looking for a little help installing a Rick Ehrenberg electronic ignition with the new distributor. According to the instructions I need to run the blue wire from the Hirev7500 module to the ‘run’ side of the ballast resistor. I know the ‘start’ side of the resistor feeds 12 volts to the coil...
I'm getting ready to start my POLY for the first time after a complete rebuild. While looking online for an oil priming shaft I came across a post that said 'priming the engine is not a good idea as it washes away the assembly lube.'
It's an interesting thought and I'm wondering what you engine...
I replaced my 2brl intake with a '56 Poly 4brl intake.
The threads on the water temp sending unit that came out of the 2brl intake measure 3/8". The thread size on the 4brl intake measures 1/2".
I'd like to replace the sending unit without having to use a reducer (1/2" to 3/8"). Anyone know if...
Bought transmission cooling lines from Inline Tube. Nice quality but I guess to save on shipping they bend them to make them shorter to fit in the box and place tags on the lines that say 'bend here'.
So I straightened out the lines, as per the tags, but they don't seem to fit properly, just off...
Long story short, I bought a dual snorkel air cleaner for the WCFB on my Poly. Had it blasted and powder coated. Everything fits fine BUT the hood won't close. After reading a lot about carbs here I decided to nix the WCFB - after paying a lot to have it professionally restored - and purchased...
I'm trying to keep the engine compartment as stock looking as possible. These clamps came on the car. Question: Anybody had good/bad luck using these style clamps, assuming all the hoses are new and coolant inlets and outlets are in good condition.
I’m planning on purchasing a new Edelbrock 1906 AVS2 650 carb. My search shows all the vendors price them about the same. Looking for suggestions on a preferred vendor. Thanks
A complete rebuild was done on my Poly 4 years ago. Engine sat since then, no fluids. Recently turned it over a couple times by hand, no problems. I’m getting ready to fire it up. Would like to put something in the top of the cylinders for a little lubrication prior. Have read about Sea Foam...
On my 318 Poly, mild stroker, I’ve replaced the 2 brl intake with a cast iron 4 brl intake. Planning to install a 650 Edelbrock carb, and looking at the FSM there seems to be no difference between the 2brl and 4 brl linkage, but with the new carb will I need different linkage. Customer service...
Replacing the UCAs I just received from Dr Diff. My original eccentric bolts, which seem to be in fine condition, seem to have a little too much play in the bushing. Maybe .020 give or take. Normal or should the bolts be replaced?
Thanks
What is the preferred method of installing the door glass. With the lift channel bracket installed with the rivet in place prior to installing the glass in the door OR installing the bracket and rivet to the glass with the glass in place in the door, which seems to be a PITA.
Thanks
going through my wiper linkage and have a question. Both pivots are in nice condition, however there is some slight resistance when I rotate them. I have an older set that are loose and rotate with no resistance. How much drag is expected when rotating the pivots?
Thanks
I'm restoring the Heater-A/C system on my '66 Belvedere. And aside from the 'is there a controller that replaces the # 2587564' question, I have a fan switch question.
I have a non A/C fan switch and my original A/C fan switch. The non A/C switch has 4 positions while the A/C switch has 3. What...
I have a set of 18" wheels from a 2016 Challenger which I would like to use on my '66 Belvedere. However, a test fit on the original drums shows that the spindle sticks out too far and won't allow them to bolt to the drum. In the photos you'll see the face of the drum to the end of the spindle...
On my '66 poly is a '59 cast iron 4 barrel intake with the original WCFB. Atop that I had planned on using a RR duel snorkel air cleaner. Problem is, it sits too high. I have tried two air cleaner bases, one with a 1" drop and one with a 1 7/8" drop. Neither lower the air cleaner enough and, of...
I plan to replace the '66 Belvedere single master cylinder with a '67 dual mc. Problem is I see prices all over the board from $250 to $650 for power booster and MC kits. Also, I understand my booster can be rebuilt for $250 if I just want to replace the MC. OR I can spend between $450 and $800...
Rebuilding/restoring a '66 Belvedere II. It's a 318 Poly and with Gary Pavlovich's guidance I've upped the cubes a little and installed a new cam. Found a cast iron 4 brl intake manifold with a WCFB. I 'hope' to replace my 727 with a 4 speed sometime in the near future and just now starting to...
Circled is the vacuum coupling that attaches to the back of the intake manifold on my 318 Poly. The larger hose goes to the brake booster and the smaller hose (with the arrow) goes to the AC controls. The smaller nipple has broken off this coupling. If anyone has one they want to sell or knows...
