Modified Interior Work
About this Mopar:
After installing buckets as part of the major resto and doing a little cruising it became evident that the comforts of new cars we're used to were missing like cup holders and elbow rest. And the expansive area of the floor that once was common just felt well, too expansive. I had an OEM console I set in and decided it was insufficient not being concerned about the total stock look. I sold that and found a console at a swap meet that looked interesting for 10 bucks. It had a light bar for low fuel, door ajar, etc. I thought could be interesting to re-wire for some other things. After several years of leaving the console to collect dust finally had the gumption to install. Ahh, had I any idea of how much work it required I likely would have left the console sit on the garage shelf! One of those projects where you get deeper and deeper and say..."well can't stop now". The light bar displays brakes, blinkers, and headlights and special thanks to fellow Mopar member Ignacio for his electrical expertise to guide me along with some sketches for the correct wiring. Also thanks to my life-long buddy Bob, a machinist, who made up the gauge plate and cup holder inserts for the console that once was a little storage compartment and tray. This allowed me to install a couple extra gauges and house my mac's coffee addiction when cruising to car shows on those early mornings. The leather console is out of a late 70's Lincoln finding new life in an old Mopar.
