63 Plymouth Max Wedge

About this Mopar:

Roswell Raceway Park,2010 No-E,Class Points Champ.
A little info about my Max Wedge.

Original Factory 426 Max Wedge,I purchased from Ed Kobler in Phoenix AZ,in 1999.The car had been in ed's family since his dad bought it new and I had raced with his dad @ Beeline Drag Way in the early 60's when I had my 64 Belvedere 4 speed Max Wedge,So I was aware of it's location. It came with locked up 440,but had the original interior[which I had done by SMS in Oregon] and push button trans ect.the body was original, but the inner fender wells had been cut for headers,But I have The original exhaust system. The engine had been sold, but I finally tracked it down in California, it was missing the heads ,crossram, carb's ect, but still had the factory cam and I had everything needed to build it.I finished restoring it back to the way it was raced and in 2003 I sent Galen Govier the #'s off the finder tag, Vin,radiator core support, rear window package tray support, told him I had known the car since it was sold from beaudry Chrysler-Plymouth in Tuscon AZ.Galen then decoded and certified the car and sent me copy's of the paper work.
Yes I race the car with a 440 block and Max Wedge top end.I have the correct dated short block and top end less the 3447 carb's as they were replaced with 3705 carb's in late 63.The car has been repainted the factory YY1 color in base coat - clear coat.
I have more pictures of the build that i will try to down load and post later.
