My 1970 Roadrunner named J.R.

Pictures from summer 2016 of my roadrunner

About this Mopar:

I named after J.R. Ewing from the tv show Dallas. He's not numbers matching so I did a pro touring look. I know some will like him and some will not. But I wanted mine to be different. For now under the hood is a 1968 440 BB that was in the car when I purchased it. The vitamin C orange is the original color on the fender tag. However, I went with the 2012 verson of Vitamin C orange. I love all original mopars but when I found J.R. he didn't have original drive train nor original seats I wanted to do something a little different. If I could go back in time and do it all again I definitely would have picked a painter that knows his way around mopars. Paint job was exactly what I paid for it...Cheap price and cheap results. Looks good in pictures but a lot of flaws from different oranges to so so bodywork. I still love the car. Mopar or nocar!! The plum crazy RR belongs to my buddy Jay. It's a numbers matching 383/auto car.

I'm not the one for a pro touring class but I love the color you picked, Whats under the hood? And to me and maybe its just me but It has that charger look, but that may just be me... I have a 66 Charger with a big block 361 under it shes sitting right now till I get the cash to fully restore it all at once... but you definitely got the "different" part spot on... never seen a Roadrunner like that befor. Great Job!

Thank you for the nice comments. there's a 440 under the hood. That's what was in there when I bought him. Originally a 383 car.

Very cool, hope it has a good suspension looks like it will go around a corner, love the console and the only thing I would change is the column to a floor shift style. Very nice job of putting it together and the paint.

Thank you for the kind comments. The suspension is pretty much new/stock for now. I plan on doing a gen 3 hemi swap at some point and will upgrade the suspension then. I also about the column shift look. I hope to change that soon too.

Very, very nice job sir! Despite being an old school {Stock from factory look} guy, I like the different direction you went, its a nice change! Even when guys do something different then we would, just embrace it man, and be happy for the guy who owns it. Enjoy my friend!!!!!!

Thank you sir. I feel the same way about embracing each and every mopar no matter which style of restoration is chosen.

That's a pretty amazing car! I built a center console Very similar to that. Even the same shifter! You would think I copied your idea.

Nice job, the roadrunner looks great and it has a mean looking stance. I am doing a similar build right now. Would you please share what size tire and wheels you put on your car? Did you do any modification for tire clearance?

I usually don't like these styles. Call me crazy, but I dig it! Glad you're enjoying it!

Great looking car. Any chance you have any pictures of your gauges? Or could you tell me what kind? I really like the clean look of them.
