11" brake backing plates

Are backing plates from an 8 3/4 axle different from backing plates on a Dana 60?

Nope. 8.25, 8.75 and Dana uses the same.

Only differences would be diameter and drum/shoe width. But you could get 11" x 2-1/2" on 8-3/4's. There's nothing wrong with 10" drums, just find the proper backing plates. In fact, 9-1/4 backing plates work also.
