I bought a Set of 60s Volvo Steelies 15x4! Same Bolt Pattern! Want the Skinny Look for my 63 MaxWedge :). What is the biggest Tyre for that ? 205/75 or maybe a 205/80… want to drive a Radial Tyre!

For the Rear i have OE Steelies in 15x7 with a 275/60

While I hate the flame tread design, the M/T Sportsman S/R is available in 26, 28 and 29" tall tires and work really well. I struggled for a long time to find a radial that filled out the HUGE '63 Dodge front wheel openings on my car. They drive great on the street AND track.

2nd on the M/T sportsman S/R.
I have 185/65s on my skinny centerlines, but they are too wide, and too short. (They are what I could get when i Needed tires)
All I could find recommended for a 4"rim was 155/80x15. For a 4.5 rim, they said a 185/70x15 would work.
Tall skinny radial street tires for front skinny rims are HARD to find.

I use tire size.com tire calculator. They say a 205/75x15 (27"tall) should be used on a 5-7" wheel. But I don't do what I'm told very often, I'd try it on a 4"rim.....

15x4 steel wheels with p215/15 pro trac runners......yes, I do think they are to big for a 4" wheel.

Back in the day, I ran VW Beetle tires on my 4" fronts - I think it was a 165-185 width equivalent and probably a 75-80 sidewall.
Didn't corner very well, but that wasn't the car's purpose...

Here's a pic of M/T SR's in 27". We ran the small "Beetle" tires for a while, but were getting over 130 mph in the 1/4 mile and I was worried about safety with them.

Though these are on a 6'' wheel I went with the 215/75/15 for the front.
The tire width varies with the manufacture's. I looked these up on Hercules Tire web.Hercules is a division of Cooper.
They have a Hercules brand called Ironman RB-12 NWS. They list as "Classic".A narrow tire I have used on many cars. You may find they will work on a 4'' wide rim.
I'm a wheel and tire junky..The Torque Thrust wheels were 5''.
