Hello,

I was going to try and start the engine today and found that for some reason it has a 172 tooth flywheel. (and the starter is for a 130 tooth flywheel)

It's a 69 Charger with a 426 hemi.

Has a TKO 600, I believe a keisler bellhousing.

Looks like powermaster makes a 172 tooth starter for early hemi.

Think there is any chance that would bolt up and work or should I pull it apart and install a 130 tooth flywheel?

Thanks!

Well I ordered a mini starter from RobbMc so hoping that works out.

the 172 was to get a lower ratio with the non reduction gear starter
IDK maybe smaller than the old High Torque reduction gear starter
was there an ex manifold problem?
I do not remember
reduction gear mini starter should work well

Well looks like the 172 starter will not work as the bellhousing is not for the same. (so starter mounting pattern/location is different)

Looks like at this point I need to pull it apart and put a 130 tooth flywheel in it.

130 should still work with a permanent magnet gear reduction late MOPAR truck starter

Hemi's have 8 bolt flywheels. Make sure of what you have before you order flywheel.
