1962 darts are the first real B bodies made. That is the start of them.

Up to & including 1961 models used the cast iron TorqueFlite. 1962 was the first year of the 727. The body/chassis/front suspension was redesigned & lighter.

I had a 4 door 61 Dodge as in post #1. My friend had a 62 4 door. We both had 440s & 727s. We weighed both cars on the same day & my 61 was 440 lbs heavier.
