Hello All. This is my first post. I am very happy to be apart of this form. I have owned my 1962 Dodge Dart for about 15 years now. I love this car.

I would like to install the back up light switch. I just bought a switch.

I can not find any pictures of my type of push button selector that has the back up light switch installed. I have everything else in the car already for the lights. Wire, backup housing, and light bulbs. (I had to buy the backup light housing and light bulbs). The car already had the backup light wire installed. Last picture shows the two white wires,

Attached are some pictures of my push button selector and back up light switch that I bought.

Any help will be appreciated.

Do I have the right backup light switch?
Where does it go on the push button selector?
Do I have to take the selector out of the car? If so I cant figure out how to disconnect the 2 cables... They wont budge...

If you could provide a picture of your 1962 dart push button selector with the back up light switch that would be a big help.

Also if I have the wrong backup light switch could you tell me what is the right one to get?

Welcome!

So you were 11 years old when you got your car?

I'll trade you a couple of pics of the switch for a couple pics of your car! You don't have to remove the cables. I'm not sure what switch you have there having a pigtail already on it. Plus the cover and bracket is missing on the one you have. You should be able to make it work though.

The plug back inside of your dash suppose to plug right on to the switch.

really belongs in one of the tech or year specific forums here

First, thanks everyone for the big welcome and information!

The 62 Dart is my fathers but I LOVE DRIVING IT! I get more looks in it than when I take my corvette out! It is so much fun to drive around and the guys at work just love it.

I just order the switch with the bracket! I will keep you all posted! Right now I'm trying to clean up so I have stuff on the roof!

We are located in near Bel Air MD! Not to far from Hanover!!

The only thing right now that is wrong with it is a tare on the driver side seat. I need to find someone to replace it with the original pattern!

Thanks guys, take care!
