The pic of the car at the track posted is of the car when it was raced last about 30 years ago or so. The stickers are no longer on the car. The car is being sold as a roller.
Bracket/Foot Brake, roller, no motor, no trans, leaf spring car, and will need a rear end or build up the housing that is under it now ?? The rear wheels are 15x10s (I think) and the fronts are 15x3.5s (I think) ...
This is a very nice foot-brake car. This wagon has been a drag car most of its life and has spent most of its life inside.
I bought this car about 5 years ago even though I wasn't ready for it yet but I bought it because it was so ugly that it is pretty and I had to have it ... I had no immediate intent to take the car out when I bought it but put it away in the garage until I was ready but, now, I'm testing the waters to see how interested someone else might be ... If you want a very cool, ugly/pretty car to bracket race with ... this could be you ?? If it sells now as is ... "wonderful" ... if not, I'll get to work on it next year and use it as a foot-brake bracket car.
This wagon supposedly had a mild 383/automatic running 11's several years ago. It hasn't been raced in roughly 30 years ?? This car popped up on a race page on Facebook a few months ago and the guy who painted it saw the post and commented that this car was the straightest, rust-free old car he had ever painted. Supposedly ... the car came up out of Arizona a few decades ago.
The car is caged and it looks nice but it may need a couple of bars added to meet current cert specs ?? Someone had the car inspected about 18 years ago and if I'm not mistaken ... the car is showing a 2005 cert tag ??
The odometer is showing 6613 miles and that in fact may be accurate ?? I have a "Clear Kentucky Title" in my name.
There are no performance gauges in the car or carpet. The front bench seat is VERY NICE as it was reupholstered in accordance to the car color. This car has the best feeling/smoothest steering in a manual steering car that I've ever felt.
The leaf springs have been moved in and the frame rails are very, very nice. The rear end will need to be replaced or whatever the next owner wants because what is in it now is just an 8-3/4 dummy rear end with dummy axles to roll the car. There are no rear brake assemblies on the rear end so, the new owner will need to supply those or go to disc brakes. The fronts are drum brakes.
I recently spent a strong sum of money to have the 30-year-old paint on this car, wet-sanded and buffed and it came out MUCH better than I expected. When I bought the car, I had a car cover (Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories) made for the car and it fits like a dream and is also included. There are quite a few smaller trim pieces that go with the car also. The grille work is off the car and in the back as with the other parts that are included.
The trim work on this car about 80% of it is spectacular for its age ... especially the side trim and compliments the car well.
