Hey everyone, just picked up a 64 Polara 500 with power windows. 3/4 of them work with assistance and the fourth doesn't work at all. I can't seem to find replacement motors. There must be a workaround. Suggestions?

I had a '66 about 20 years ago that the windows would barely or not move and i ended up taking the motors apart and cleaning/regreasing them and they worked great.. that would fix your ones that need help. Even 20 years ago the grease in them was hard and the motor was just unable to do the job.. also clean/lube any moving parts in the window tracks due to the same issue..

The dead one, take off the door panel and grab a meter and see if the motor is even getting power when you hit a switch.. first place to start.

Agree.

Straight 12v to the motor is a good test.

Not sure about pre-1966 but from 66 up until the late 1980's, all the PW motors interchange.

Some are reversed, though. IE left vs right.

Some later ones have an extra mount hole.
