1964 Polara Trim Paint

On the upper stainless side trim on the 64 Polara, the 3/4 inch indented part of the trim is painted black. (On my car anyway). Can anyone tell me if this black should be gloss, semi gloss or matt.

Not gloss, mine looked to be more satin black

I had a satin stripe made. Durable and easy to do. Haven't figured out getting the polara part done yet. Might take a spare piece down and see if they could laser cut it or something.
