1966 Charger Headlight Motor Disassembly Help

I would solder the strap to the rivet.
Thanks for this. I soldered the strap to the rivet AND i used a piece of 14 gauge wire and created a whole new ground wire. This motor now runs awesome. This was the worst of my two. I also did this to my other motor and it did not solve the problem.

The passenger side motor decided to stop working the other day. Its stuck halfway and when I tried to give it 12 volts to get it too fully close, it did nothing. The guy who rebuilt my starter says he can fix it. So, when I get a chance, probably not anytime soon though, I'm having back surgery in two weeks and it's too cold to be out there pulling that motor. It's going to have to wait till the spring.
