What's it Worth 1966 Dodge Charger What's it worth.

This generation of Charger is such a wierd situation, you either love them or hate them. The sad part is they just never caught on and gained popularity. I have an appreciation for this first generation Charger, I grew up around one as my buddies dad has 1 of the 59 Hemi 4spd cars and, have lots of memories around that car. Those dashes at night are absolutely amazing!!

Where you live is also a big determining factor if selling it local. In my area of Ohio, wouldn't fetch more than 6-8k in it's current condition, cleaned up and running, 8-16k depending on how clean and how well running, some factors are non-originality, color etc. Based on current 66-67's I've seen for sale here over the last 5 years because I've been looking

Do the EL dash lights and headlight doors work?

Those are BIG TIME expenses if they do not.

The 383 4 speed is desirable and the car appears to be in very solid body condition.

But it's going to need a lot of work and people don't pay much for projects.

If your able to get it running and driving you'll get much more than the way it sets.

Is it original paint and pinstripes?
That would be quite rare.

The dark paint in the engine compartment is a detriment.
I agree about the engine bay. Our Charger had a black engine bay when we got it. Also custom paint. I think the painter thought it was GM product. The fellow that painted our car was prepared to paint the inner door black until I explained it wasn’t a Chevy! Had already explained that the engine bay had to match the body.

Is that body work in front of the driver's side rear wheel?

Was the car painted while you were the owner?

This one for $13,500 (asking price) in North Augusta, South Carolina is a non-running 383 automatic. Yours looks nicer.

That one has AC, his doesn’t. I factored non AC into my calculation of a 12k asking price. I think it would definitely sell at 12k if it was cleaned up and running. You could always start at 15k and lower it if it doesn’t move. If I was shopping I would move right on past it if I saw it at 15k. 12k would get me to stop and pay attention.

Looking at the pictures on my computer the lower fender and rear quarter looks wavy.

It needs a lot.

As is I think 7500 is a high number.
Even running I think $10,000 is the high number.
But you need to get someone to look at it.
