This is the purple cable and purple with stripe wire that starts at the connector behind the drivers side kick panel. I think I recall the two prong connector plugged into the two prongs on the steering column but I dont have any idea where the single prong went.

Last pink and white are for the brake lamp switch.

The wiper needs all prongs with a wire. How about that single wire in the carpet?

The two prong connector on the carpet is for the reverse lamp switch.

I have the same exposed prong on my ignition switch and was also wondering if I am missing a wire that connects to this prong. Did you ever figure it out? Is there a wire that connects to that prong?

There is a car that uses that additional prong, don't remember which year or carline.

All the wires for your cars ignition should all be in one plastic connector holding the terminals. Wipers are not always that way. The wiper sometimes uses separate connectors.

I am going to take a look at it later today after work and I found someone on a thread here linked a site that I was able to download the service manual last night for my car and that has the wiring diagram. I am going to compare that with the information R413 gave me and ill send you an update on this.
