1966 dodge rearend question

Did all 1966 dodge coronet have rearends 8 -3/4 741 and 742 ? Going to buy one off this guy he doesn't think its a 8 -3/4 . Google it couldn't find out if they came out with 8 -1/4 or different ones ? Thanks

If it was a /6 car, most likely it wasn't an 8 3/4" rear....need him to post pics of it.

8 1/4 didn't come out until 1969. I think /6 and possibly some 318s came with 7 1/4.

My '63 and '65 B's, both /6 auto's, came with 8-3/4's. Both were bottom feeders for options too...

My 2 63 's , one was a three on the tree and other was a automatic , /6 ,both had 741 and 65 sate had a 742 , thought maybe the 66 coronet was a 741 8-3/4.

As I recall there were some wagons that got the dana 60 9 3/4 rear end.

Every V8 1966 Dodge B body and every V8 1966 Plymouth B body car I've ever seen has had a 8 3/4 axle.

Not so for 67.

My dad owned a Mobil station from 1960-68. I worked there from 62-68. in 66' Dad Installed a load level trailer hitch on a New 66 Coronet wagon that was equipped with the 426 hemi. We didn't think twice about it, as it was just another new car.99% of the people then didn't drive race cars, and had no Interest in them.
But, when the first 68 Hemi Charger pulled in for gas in october 67',,,,I got no sleep for a week!
