I've owned a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 convertible with a slant 6 for about 17 years. It is driveable but needs restoration, which I'm getting ready to start. Over the years I've looked for other slant 6 convertibles for sale but I have never seen one. Does anyone have any idea how many '67 Coronet convertibles with a slant 6 were made? I'm sure the value isn't as much with the slant 6 as the more sought after big blocks, but does anyone know if the rarity of a slant 6 convertible (assuming it is relatively rare) adds value to the car? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

Welcome from Alabama, I don't see any added value for the slant 6, but a very nice looking Coronet. Probably very economical in this day and time.

My oldest daughter will soon turn 16. My plan is to restore my convertible and her and I will probably share my regular car and the convertible. I have a 7 minute commute to work, so the convertible with the 6 cylinder will be perfect for getting around town. I figure why put money in to a car for her that will depreciate when I could put the same money in to the convertible and, at minimum, break even.

Below are my restoration plans. If anyone has any suggestions or resources, I'd greatly appreciate it! I know there's lots of info on the forum if I search, which I definitely will be doing as I start taking on the projects.

Needs minor body work and paint
Needs a new top (there is a hole in the top, it's faded and the back window is gone) - any suggestions on going with vinyl or glass for the rear window?
Convert to disk brakes
Rebuild engine if necssary
Add AC - a requirement if I'm going to drive it :)

I think most 67's started life with glass rear windows. Looks to be a very solid example for body and paint. Disk brake conversion I don't see as a must, just make sure what you have is working properly. Slant 6's just don't wear out, make a compression check to be sure and tune it up. On the A/C, I would look for a vintage under dash unit with maybe a modern compressor setup under the hood. Also plan on upgrading the radiator with the addition of A/C. My opinion, just suggestions.

I have a 67 belvedere convertible that is slant 6, auto and even factory sure grip rear end.

67 verts seem to be cropping up a lot more recently. I’m glad to see it.

My best suggestion is to rid yourself of that money pit before you get in too deep.
Just need your address, and I'll pick it up.

Welcome to FBBO BTW.
Way cool car, enjoy!!
